When did doing something “like a girl” become an insult, and when did girls learn to accept it?
The new #LikeAGirl commercial from Always shows use exactly when that change happens: puberty. Before the switch, doing something like a girl is empowering, uplifting, and shows strength. But as you’ll see in this video, young ladies grow to learn that it’s an insult, and that being a girl–and acting like it–is something to be ashamed of. It’s time to make a change!
As Always says, “We’re kicking off an epic battle to make sure that girls everywhere keep their confidence throughout puberty and beyond, and making a start by showing them that doing it #LikeAGirl is an awesome thing.”
