Barclays Increases CD Rates to 4.90% APY (April 2023)

Barclays has increased the maximum APY for its CD accounts to 4.90% APY.

The for-profit tax company authorized by the IRS, eFile.com, was distributing JavaScript malware during tax season through a malicious file. Security researchers confirmed that the file was present on the eFile.com website for several weeks. The full scope of the incident remains unclear, but it raises concerns about the security and oversight of IRS-authorized third-party tax software providers.

During the week starting on April 3rd and ending on April 7th, there were no changes in savings account or money market account rates compared to the week prior.

CIT Bank increased the maximum APY on their CD accounts (6-month term) to 5.00% APY. Their high-yield savings increased to 4.75 and their money market account APY remains the same.

The median APR for personal loans has increased to 24.63%, up 1.43 points from the previous week, following the latest Federal Reserve rate increase.
