AARP Insurance has steadily gone downhill in the past year or so. They used to be great with their customer service, but now not so much. I needed to add my sons car onto my policy, and it's been such a pain. Apparently we now have "too many" cars on our insurance policy. I didn't know that was possible. The customer service representative also couldn't give me an accurate quote, even though they had all my policy information. They've just become really unhelpful and I honestly miss how they used ...
Been with them for years and never thought about going anywhere else, that is until they started raising their rates over the past couple of years. It made me start looking around for quotes just to see what was out there, and it turns out as a loyal customer who has never filed a claim, I was paying more with AARP than any of the new quotes I got. It made no sense to stay with them after that.
Nothing but pleasant experiences with this place and the young lady who takes care of our account is always pleasant and helpful. They give me everything I need in an auto insurance policy, at reasonable rates and by knowladgeable staff.
Rates went up to four times what we were paying just two years ago. I got a speeding ticket but other than that, there is no reason for it to be so expensive now. I can't even afford the monthly payments and we have been with them for years. They are pricing themselves right out of a customer!
After ten years with AARP, we can honestly say that they've declined in terms of service. They used to be the best car insurance company out there. Recently, I've known three people who have switched to other insurance agencies because of the decline. Now I see why. They are not available to help you and the customer service department is extremely rude. We will be looking around for another provider as soon as possible.
We have been with AARP for nearly a decade and I am sad to say will not be with them much longer. Their rates have gone through the roof and we have never had an accident or filed any claims. They say it's because of a credit issue, but my husband and I both have excellent credit reports. I don't know what has happened to this company.
AARP has steadily increased our policy premiums over the past couple years for no apparent reason. We've added our son, so we expected an increase, but we've never filed any claims or gotten into any accidents. Our policy has gone up almost 40%. I feel like they're doing the whole 'bait and switch' thing, where they raise the rates after they get you in. We've been nothing but great customers and they have no reason to do this to us.
AARP is an extremely unreliable company. I added my husbands new car to our policy and was told I'd get the insurance cards within a few days. After a week, I hadn't received anything. I contacted them and they stated they'll send them again. Again, a week later and nothing. Also, the customer service reps I've spoken with all tell me different things. One said we'll get it in 48 hours, one said within 4 days. They need to get their information straight.
AARP has decent coverage but they have higher rates than other companies. I contacted customer service to see if there were any other discounts I was eligible for, and they told me I was getting the lowest rate possible. I knew I was overpaying and looked elsewhere. I now have a different insurance company, and my premium is almost half of what it was with AARP. I am also getting the same amount of coverage.
