I made a deal with him that if he kept his grades at a satisfactory level, I'd pay the insurance (with him paying everything else that goes along with a car). A few years after that I realized that there were better priced options out there. It was a struggle to switch from Allstate, just because they were a really great insurance company. I have shopped around and found some auto insurance that was less expensive than Allstate but i won't switch. They might be cheaper but if you really compare what you get as far as services and the piece of mind that they have given me through the years i have no reason to leave them. Claims , adding drivers and online services are top notch.
My family had been Allstate customers for years. My parents got them when they married, and when I started paying for my own insurance, I got them too. We recently got into a bit of a pinch with our finances and had to cut back. We loved Allstate, but they had to go. After I found a much better rate, even my parents switched. There are much cheaper insurance companies out there that will provide the same amount of coverage, you just have to look around.
It really is unfortunate that Allstate continues to raises its premiums on all of its customers, because I do genuinely like their coverage. For the years I've had it, they have been reliable and consistent with their customer service and claims filing. They have increased me so much that I have to look for a new insurance company. My parents also have them and they will stay with Allstate, but I just can't afford it. If they kept their prices reasonable, I'd be the happiest customer alive.
I honestly don't think other companies would go as far as Allstate does for its customers. I've had so many insurance companies in the past that are so eager to take your money, and then refuse to pay for a claim. Or, they treat you so poorly. My one and only claim was approved and handled so quickly. I was able to get my check and my car fixed within a few weeks. The agents are also amazing. They make the company so personable and help out so much.
As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. I know Allstate is a little on the pricey side, and I've seen insurance premiums for much, much cheaper. The extra cost of an Allstate policy is more than worth it. I bought my first car 23 years ago and needless to say, I've had my fair share of insurance companies. I've been screwed over, lied to, and have dealt with awful claims departments. Since switching to Allstate three years ago, all that went away. Allstate used to be the lowest insurance in town. Now, not so much. When I first got my PT Cruiser they gave me such a low quote, I thought, I could I not go with them?? But three years later and my premium has increased three times. Every year that number goes up even though I have yet to file a claim, ever. They are such a good company that I hate to give them up. Their customer service is great, but is it enough?
Amazing customer service! I believe in the value of products and services, and Allstate delivers. They are a little more expensive with their insurance policies but they make up for it with their services. I have no problem for paying for quality and that's exactly what Allstate is. They've handled all of my families claims without any problems or hassle. They're always there when we need something from them. They are an amazing company. You definitely get more for your money.
While my husband was driving to work one morning, he was hit in the rear by an Allstate insured driver. The roads were slippery from rain, but the driver was going faster than he should have been. The driver was found to be at fault, so we expected some coverage from Allstate. They would not pay a dime to get our car fixed. We ended up relying solely on our own car insurance, who helped us with the costs almost immediately.

I love Allstate for all that they do. They really are an all-around insurance company. I honestly can't even take off a star because of the higher rates. I value good service and that's all you will ever receive from Allstate and your Allstate agent. My claims have always been resolved quickly and I've always received a fair payout. They also have the best customer service in the land. I couldn't ask for anything more from an insurance company.
Allstate made it such a pain to change our policy. Originally, my family shared one policy: myself, my husband, and my two daughters. We'd had them for a few years prior to the problems. My oldest daughter was moving out of state for college and wanted her own insurance policy. Since she was just added under me and my husband, it should've been easy to just let her go. But they made us send them all of these documents and made it so much more difficult than it really should've ... been. Allstate continues to up my premium even though I've been a loyal customer for many years and have never filed a claim. I've had them long enough to add my first wife, take her off when we divorced, add my second wife, and then add our four children when they were all able to drive. After all that, there have been no claims on my insurance. I have always paid on time if not before the due date. It sounds silly, but I don't think we'd switch insurance companies even if we wanted to. My wife and I moved for my job and got Allstate because our previous car insurance was not carried over state lines. It's been over 10 years and we have no complaints thus far. We've also never had any accidents claims, but we are confident that Allstate would handle them in the correct manner just by seeing how they have handled everything else.
I'm a big fan of Allstate. They currently insure three cars for my family. They were great when I needed to add my daughter, and when I needed to take my son off the policy. They couldn't have made it easier. My husband and I were in an accident and they took care of the claim instantly. They didn't leave any slack for us to clean up. They have higher rates than other companies, but they are good for our family.
Allstate really let me down this time. I've had them for a few years without any issues, up until about a month ago. I got into an accident, and filing a claim with them was like pulling teeth. It was my first claim, so I didn't know what to expect. I was told they'd cover a rental vehicle for me, but then I received a call from the rental company asking me to pay. When you call Allstate, you speak to a real live, breathing human being. You do not get the robot you get with many other insurance companies. When my daughter had to file a claim when her car was struck in the middle of the day, Allstate was there to assist her. That experience made me very happy that we have Allstate, and made me feel positive about what they can offer us as customers. They were there for us, and we will continue to be loyal customers.
I really feel like Allstate's higher premiums are commensurate with their level of service and coverage. For the coverage I am getting for my two family cars, I've gotten quotes for almost double through other agencies. I'm also extremely satisfied with their insurance agents. My claims have always been handled with great care and I feel I have always been treated fairly and with respect. You pay more, but you get more.
When it comes to insurance, please don't skimp on it!! After getting married, my wife merged her car insurance to mine, which is Allstate. She had another big-name company beforehand and was very unhappy. She was paying a little less per month for her insurance, but they never handled her claims the way they should've. I told her about all of the times I've used Allstate to my advantage and how amazing they were, and she was eager to switch over with me.
Allstate's accident forgiveness is the best thing any one could have come up with. I've had insurance agencies in the past that have hiked up my premium when I got into an accident, which is not feasible for a college student. I work part time and can't make the higher payments all the time. But Allstate is great. I got into an accident and they applied the accident forgiveness to my claim. My premium increased only a few dollars, which was much more reasonable for me to pay. They're great!
Be careful with Allstate!! I was looking around for my first car insurance policy and got TONS of quotes from a million different companies. Allstate requested my banking info (not sure why) but I gave it to them figuring they'd need it to determine the quote. A month later, my account was billed! I called and complained immediately! They refunded my money, but have contacted me and said that I have a past due policy balance. I never actually signed up for the policy!!!! Be careful!!!
I've had such good experiences with Allstate. I've had them for my family van about 10 years, and they're great. We rely heavily on our one van to transport our family of four, so it's nice to know you're covered if anything happens. About a year ago, I was in an accident with a driver that didn't have insurance. I did have to pay for my deductible to make my car drive again, but once the other person insurance company paid out, my Allstate agent gave me a check to ... cover the damages. My Allstate agent is fantastic. I've been with them for about a year now, and ended up switching when I just couldn't take my current insurance agent. He was rude, unprofessional, and was obviously only there for the money. I'm not sure how much insurance agents make, but he was a money hungry pig who didn't care about his customers. I'm so much happier with my Allstate agent, and would recommend anyone directly to his office.
I love my Allstate agent! She's such a great person and genuinely cares about her customers. Every time I speak with her or anyone in her office, it's like I'm their only customers. I ended up saving around $800 a year by switching to another insurance company. Don't get me wrong, Allstate is a decent company for car insurance, but I can't pay those higher premiums. They were okay when it was just me, but now I have a family to think about. My wife suggested we look around and get quotes from other companies. It was a good idea and now we're putting the money we save towards family activities.
I was in a collision with a driver who was insured by Allstate. The other driver was found 100% at fault, but Allstate refuses to pay out. They would not get a rental car for me, even though I continuously requested one. I've been out of work for two weeks due to not having a car AND the injuries I sustained. Allstate really screwed me and my family over. I was making my monthly payments for my premium for over a year with them when they unknowingly canceled my policy. First, they left me uninsured without my knowledge. Second, they couldn't give me an explanation as to why I was cancelled. Third, they stated I could get a new policy and gave me a higher premium. No way. I've since gotten a new company who treats their customers with respect.
I always had good customer service from my Allstate agent but after asking around to some friends and family, I realized I was definitely paying a premium on that service - corny pun intended.
They are a good company but are just too expensive. Lots of other good options for a lot cheaper. I ended up switching to Allied and got my insurance bill cut in half.
I loved Allstate when I first got my license. My parents bought me a car and wanted me to get my own insurance provider. A little "lesson" on their part. At 18, insurance is high. Allstate offered a decent rate for my age. I had them for three years, in which I had two accidents. One was my fault, the other wasn't. They handled my claims so professionally and helped me every step of the way. They are a pretty good company and I'd recommend them.
Even with their higher premiums, I would never switch from Allstate. The company itself is great and provides you with what you need for a great insurance policy. My agent is even better. He is amazing with my policy and always knows how to handle my questions, claims, concerns, etc. They are awesome and I'd keep them forever if I could. I've been a happy customer for 6 years and for many, many more.
