I've had Esurance for many years, and out of the blue they raised my premium last year. I contacted customer service, and they stated it was because of their new business practices. I decided to get other quotes from companies, and they were all lower than what they had raised my premium to. Why are they raising there rates when they are so insanely higher than anyone else? I'm currently looking for a better insurance provider who will not screw me over and increase there rates for no reason.

After I filed a claim through Esurance, they swore that I was trying to get compensated for previous damage. I live in a major city, so yes, I have some bumps and scratches. If you've ever lived in a place like that, you'll know it's completely normal to get your car mirror hit off if you don't push it in every time you park. I ended up getting into a small accident OUTSIDE of the city where I live. The claims department kept telling me they weren't going to pay ... for the preexisting scratches and bumps. I kept explaining that I only wanted them to cover damage done to the bumper from the accident. Either they didn't know what I was saying or didn't care, because I never got any sort of monetary compensation from them. More Less

I was rear ended about two months ago by a careless driver. My bumper fell off, and I had significant damage to my trunk. Needless to say, I couldn't use my car anymore. I filed a claim right away and they have yet to pay out. They keep telling me I'm responsible for the deductible, when I know I am not. They are almost refusing the resolve my claim and compensate me. Why am I paying for insurance through a company that is not going to help you out with ... car damages? More Less

I don't understand Esurance's policies. They made me pay the first and last month of my premium, which I thought was odd to begin with. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I didn't question it any further. When it came to the last month of my policy, I found that they didn't actually apply the money they took to that month. They hold it like a security deposit on an apartment. I've never heard of this before, and it seems a little strange to me. Maybe it's the norm, ... but I'm not comfortable with it. More Less

I'm so happy I've never had to file a claim with Esurance, because it would've been the biggest nightmare. I moved from my parents house to my own apartment and changing my address with them was an ordeal. They increased my rate because there was a period when they couldn't verify my new address. I contacted them once my new address was verified, and they wouldn't lower my rate back to the original amount. So apparently, you can't move while being insured by Esurance because your premium is going to ... go up. More Less

The people at Esurance are nothing but a bunch of crooks. For some reason unbeknownst to me, they cancelled my insurance policy. I went to pay for my bill when it was due, and found out that way that it had been cancelled. I didn't file any claims or have any accidents, so I really don't know why. I had to get a new insurance company immediately, which was such an inconvenience on my part. I've called them a few times to find out why my policy was cancelled, but ... have yet to get through to anybody. More Less

Esurance is awful. I was shopping around for quotes and they gave me a decent number, so I applied for a policy. I have auto pay straight through my bank, and was auto-renewed at six months. They raised my premium 20% without letting me know. I didn't figure it out until three months later when I happened to see it in my bank statement. I haven't filed a claim or anything like that, so I don't know why it made such a big jump.

Esurance screwed me over when I tried to pay for my policy. I was switching from a previous company, where I had an awful experience, too. I put in my payment information for my credit card, and went on my way. Three days after my payment was due, I was notified that they couldn't take my payment. Now, my payment was late. I called to get it straightened out and they couldn't give me information why my card was denied. They also didn't seem to care that my payment was ... late because they didn't inform me in time. What a bunch of crap. More Less

I've had Esurance for a few years and hadn't had any issues up to this point. I was visiting my parents a few towns away and parked my car in the street. The next morning, I came out and there was some damage done to the mirror and passenger side door. Mostly cosmetic, but I still wanted it fixed. Esurance will not resolve my claim for anything, and they insist that I pay for the damages. They are now avoiding me like the plague and will not help me out.

We switched our insurance to Esurance a couple years ago because a friend of my wife showed us that we could get more coverage for a lower rate than what we were paying elsewhere. This was perfect timing since we were looking to save a little money wherever we could. It has saved us a lot of money each month, and our car insurance coverage is even better than it was before.

Although we thankfully haven't needed to make a claim yet, every time we have needed to speak to someone ... at esurance, my wife and I have both experienced great customer service. When we bought a vehicle recently, my wife called the 800 number and the representative was very helpful, made the switch very easy, and emailed us new printable insurance cards that very day. I also love that we have the option to go online to speak to someone knowledgeable every time.

We are now having a baby and will probably name it Eshur!

My husband and I recently bought our first new car together. This was significant because we've ever only been able to get used cars, and it was very important to us. After a month or so, the car was terribly vandalized outside of my husband's work. It's not a nice area, but we didn't expect this. Esurance understood our grief, and they handled everything. We filed our claim online and it was resolved so quickly. We were able to get the car back into shape, and now it looks as ... good as the day we bought it. More Less
