I told my agent that I needed coverage effective the 1st of the month but he put it on the 5th. When I called to tell him I needed it switched, he informed me there would be a $30 charge. To fix HIS mistake?

Progressive has always been a great insurer until it came time for them to do something other than collect my payment each month. I thought after all I have paid into my policy over the years that I would get better results than I did. Very unhappy.

I am very pleased because I am saving about $300/year after switching. I was a loyal customer for years at another company, and now I realize that I was just throwing my money away. Wish I had called Progressive sooner.

You don't know how good of an insurance company you have until you need them. After a recent accident, I learned just how important having auto insurance is and I'm glad my coverage was through Progressive.

When I have to call to get answers about my policy, there is hardly any wait time and the person who answers is pleasant, knows what they are talking about, and speaks English clearly enough so that I can actually understand them.

I have a teenager living with me that isn't related to me. Progressive took it upon themselves to add him to my policy and said that it was the law. How is that possible? Can you really go around just adding people to people's policies?

Progressive has been a great insurance company for my family. At the moment, we are insuring three vehicles with five separate drivers under our Progressive policy. Two months after we added our youngest daughter to our policy she was rear ended while turning down our street. The guys at Progressive handled our claim so quickly. We did have to pay a small deductible, but considering the damage was much, much more, it was fine with us.

Why does Progressive continue to raise my premium? It's just me on the policy, with a single car. I've never even filed a claim in the few years I've had them. But, every six months like clockwork, I get a small percentage increase. Small, but still enough to make me notice. Other than that, Progressive offers decent insurance. They also have a good customer service depart that is helpful when you need it. Just wish they'd quit raising the rates.

I have nothing but great things to say about Progressive. I have had car insurance from them for years and just recently bought a boat to enjoy on our local lake. I got a new bundled policy and saved tons of money. Their reps made it easy to add the boat and I am one very satisfied customer!

Progressive auto insurance is amazing! I've never been treated so well by an insurance company, especially when I've filed a claim. My car was hit while parked outside a grocery store, while I was inside. A representative came to me in no time, and my claim was resolved so fast. I was given compensation to cover the damages, and paid nothing out of pocket. They're a great, solid company, with excellent customer service.

I've had Progressive for 7 years and have been accident free the entire time. I recently added my younger sister who moved in with me to be closer to her school. I let her borrow my car from time to time and added her to my insurance. She was in a very minor accident and Progressive really dropped the ball. At first, they acted like they had my back and would help at all costs. But though the process, I realized that they did not want to help me as ... much as I thought. I was disappointed but have since made my sister pay for the damages. More Less

Their rates are the lowest I have found so far for my family's vehicles. We even have a son in college and a daughter who just got her license, but their rates are far lower than any other place I have tried. Very happy with their customer service team too.

The fact that I can do everything online with Progressive is amazing. I've had other auto insurance companies where I've had to contact customer service for certain things, which is a pain. I can do everything online and through Progressive's mobile app. Pay my bill, check out my policy.. everything you'd need on the go. It's perfect for busy adults. I've never actually spoken with someone to the company, and I'm happy I've never had to.

I have a DUI on my record and have had several accidents in the past. Progressive still gave me one of the best quotes around! I couldn't believe how helpful their reps are too.. I am very happy with them for my auto insurance.

We live in a unique small town and use golf carts as our main mode of transportation. Progressive is one of the few companies that offers coverage for alternative vehicles like that. They are professional, helpful and offer a great product for the price.

When I was in a multi-car accident during the morning work rush, I was left without a car. Obviously, this didn't work out for me, since my work is a 40 minute commute every day. I filed my claim with Progressive and stressed the fact that I needed my car fixed THAT DAY. They couldn't get that done, but they did cover a rental car that I used for the next week to get to work. They really came through for me and my family, and I couldn't be happier.

Unfortunately, I've had three separate accidents within the year period I've been with Progressive. So far, they've been great when it comes to filing claims. They handle everything so quickly and I didn't feel any hassle on my end. They covered all of the damage and my deductible didn't go up. My premium hasn't even increased yet! They are great when you have a claim that needs to be resolved with minimal hassle. They are great, and I'll continue to do business with them.

Where is Flo when you need her most? I got into an accident and my car isn't totalled, but it also isn't driveable right now. It is sitting at the mechanic going on three weeks now waiting for the insurance check to pay for the repairs. I have had to take the bus to work and it is totally inconvenient!

I've been with Progressive for 5 years and I can tell you, they aren't always bad. I really think it just depends who's working on the day you need to speak with someone. There have been times when the agent is so amazing and helpful, and other times, not so much. Unfortunately, I got one of the cranky claims reps when I got into an accident. It was bad enough having to deal with actually getting into an accident, then I had to deal with the rude claims rep. Like ... I said, it depends on the day. More Less

Unfortunately I have had a few accidents in the last 6 months - three to be exact. While only one of them was my fault, I was still nervous about my rates going sky-high after the run of luck I've had lately. Not only have they stayed reasonable, but Progressive has been wonderful handling all my claims!

everything they advertize is true. they are great and i have saved so much money by having my car insured through progressive. my monthly rates are $50 less than they were with freeway.

From what I can tell, Progressive isn't interested in keeping their customers. I've had my car insurance through them for two years and have nothing but constant headaches. I've filed two claims and they took forever just to begin the process to resolve them. They also increased my premiums. On top of that, their customer service stinks. They are obviously uninterested in keeping their customers happy. I told them I was going to switch, and they didn't seem to care at all. Oh well.

Their snap shot device is a bunch of crap. I have never had an accident or a ticket, so you would think having the snapshot would help me! It caused my rates to go way higher than before and now I just feel like someone is always watching me and judging my driving.

Progressive's customer service is not the best. I made a mistake while paying my bill online and they were not helpful whatsoever. I called to get everything sorted out, and they basically told me they couldn't fix it and I'd have to live with the consequences. I mean, it wasn't anything major, it was just inconvenient on my end. I usually don't write reviews, but they were just so inconsiderate. They could've told me no and been nice about it. Then I wouldn't have cared. But the fact that they ... were just so rude made me angry. More Less

On one hand, I really like Progressive. On the other, I'm a little displeased with their claims department. For the three years I've had them I've utilized their roadside assistance, towing features, and have definitely made my fair share of customer service calls. But when I filed a claim last month I was not told everything that would go on during the actual claims process. My agent didn't tell me everything that would happen, the entire process, and didn't let me know that I had options to choose from. I ... had to ask and find out, which was a little frustrating. Progressive is one of the few good guys who offer fair rates for their customers and handles their business in a timely manner. Unfortunately I have had some problems with my driving record in the past couple years and my rates went way up. Not their fault I guess, but wish they would have worked with me a little bit more.

Progressive insurance has seriously screwed me and my family over. I used to have great credit. We were able to get a house, cars, everything with just my credit. Then recently Progressive upped my premium, apparently to a staggering amount. I paid what was on my bill for three months and then received a call stating that I owe more.. a LOT more. Like, an unrealistic amount more. There was no change to my policy and refused to pay that ridiculous number. They have reported me and now my credit ... is suffering. Screw you, Progressive! I recently switched to Progressive and so far I love it. It was extremely easy to get signed up. I really liked the information they give when you sign up that lets you know the prices from other companies in the quote. There was actually a company that had a lower rate showing through the Progressive quote website but when I went to that company's actual page it turned out they were actually much higher than Progressive for similar coverage. I debated on whether to get the optional 'roadside assistance' ... coverage but I'm certainly happy I did. I had to have my car jump started twice last week due to a dead battery. Progressive was able to get a tow truck out to me very quickly and help me get the car started again. Without their coverage I would have had to pay A LOT of money to have my car towed but because I have Progressive's roadside assistance coverage I didn't have to pay a dime. More Less

Progressive has a little bit of a bait and switch tactic going on. My girlfriend got a quote for our car insurance and it was very, very low. We applied for a policy with Progressive because we thought we'd be saving tons of money by going with a cheaper insurance company. When my girlfriend actually got the policy, our premium was $30 more per month than originally quoted. We were very unhappy with their untruthful tactics and after only a few months we switched.

Progressive says they have the lowest rates – until you call them for a quote. They were more than twice what I am paying now and offered less coverage at that price! Unreal.

I feel like Progressive should focus more on their actual insurance than spending money on their commercials. I've been working in marketing for almost 20 years, so I know how important it is. But, I also know how important it is to treat your customers well. It is more important to nurture the customers you have. Progressive obviously thinks they can jack up premiums to pay for their commercials, which is not okay with me. I'm not going to pay double for the same insurance.

Progressive managed to resolve our claim very, very quickly. My youngest son (19) got into an accident in my car. He was on the insurance so there were so no issues. We filed a claim for the accident on Monday and the claim was resolved by Thursday. I was able to quickly get my car fixed and my son was okay from the accident. They handled everything so quickly and we really didn't expect it to be that easy.

This insurance company does not listen to its customers!! I've been with them for about a year and have tolerated them so far. Then two months ago I was informed that they added my son to me and my husbands policy. My son is 22 and has been living at college for the past 4 years. He has his own car and hasn't driven any of our vehicles since he was 18. I called and explained and Progressive told me I had to prove that my son was not living ... at home. Are you serious?? Eventhough I love their commercials (which is why I ended up calling them in the first place), their snap shot product doesn't seem to work to my advantage. I am paying way more than I used to for insurance and have a perfect driving record.

Progressive agents need to do a better job dealing with accident victims. I've found that this company is a delight to work with when you are on good terms, but the second you file a claim it is like having a root canal. No matter what you do, it's still painful. I called and called to get details about my claim and not once did anyone call me back. One day I got through and they told me they were going to close my claim. Oh gee, thanks Progressive.

My insurance is always the last thing on my mind, so it's great that Progressive makes everything flow smoothly. I probably should be more concerned with what kind of company insures my families car, but I'm just too dang busy. Progressive makes everything I do really quick and simple. I've used their roadside assistance which was so great. You just call in and wait a little- no hassle. They also provide great service over the phone. I like knowing they are there when I need them, but I also like ... that they do not cause me any trouble on a day to day basis. More Less

Progressive tries to add people to your policy that don't need to be on it. I know because I live with 5 other people and Progressive tried to put them all on my auto policy. Three of the people I live with are roommates. They don't drive my car at all and never have. The other person is my boyfriend who is already on my policy (we share the car). But they are so nosy and keep trying to find every chance possible to add someone else. They don't understand ... what I'm saying when I tell them no one else drives my car! More Less

Progressive is one of the best insurance company's around. Very friendly and courteous. Always willing to help and find you the best rate possible. I would definitely recommend them to friends and families.
