Being on social security benefits, I don't have much flexibility when it comes to my monthly finances. I've had tons of different insurance companies in the past, but they always end up increasing my premium.

My husband and I had a USAA policy together. We were having problems and considering separating. I called USAA to see what the rates would be if we were seperated. They went ahead and seperated us on their end without my approval and has been charging us single rates for 6 mo. I cant get them to change it.

I have an ongoing investigation to find an insurance company that tops mine. I check most other competitors at least once and some 2 or 3 times a year. Overall they are the better provider time and time again.

I tried logging into their site to update my personal information. For some reason it wouldnt let me save the new information and kept telling me I needed to call customer service. I figured it was a simple thing adding one person as an additional driver and changing my home address shouldnt be too difficult, right? Wrong! Took a total of four different people and over 35 minutes to get it done. So ridiculous!

As a college student, car insurance can be INSANE! Like all young adults, I took myself off my parents insurance and got my own. Let me tell you, I soon regretted this. USAA gave me the lowest quote I've ever come across. I work and go to school, I can't pay a crazy premium every month! I'm actually able to afford my car insurance through them. I haven't gotten into any accidents as of yet, but if I ever do, I sure hope my premium will stay low and affordable.

I've had USAA for years and have liked them so far. But when filing a claim, they're a different story. When my car was wrecked and was towed to a mechanic, they grilled me on the specifics of what was being done to my car. Heck, I don't know how many labor hours it's going to take to fix my axel! If I knew, I'm sure I would have called them up and let them know. It was a waste of the customer service reps breathe, because I didn't know ... anything. More Less

I've never had such a good insurance company! You wouldn't think insurance companies could be amazing, but USAA is. They offer competitive rates and amazing customer service. I check other insurance companies rates every six months, when I'm ready to renew. I want to make sure I'm getting the best bang for my buck, and USAA continues to be the best choice. I've filed one claim with them and the experience was great. There was no hassle on my end, and it was resolved within a week.

On the unfortunate side of this company. I don't have a policy with USAA, but the guy who ran a red light and hit me does. They acknowledged that the accident was the other guys fault, but have come up with every excuse to delay payment. Frustrating when I need that money to get my car repaired!

I've been with USAA for a few years now and have been pretty happy. They offer good coverage for good premiums. My only complaint is that they increased my premium when I moved one town over. My new home is actually in a nicer area (hence why I moved my family there) but they still increased it. They said that crime rates would differ from where I was before. I argued that the area was notorious for being crime-free, but they increased my premium anyway.

I am so happy with USAA and will continue to be a customer of theirs as long as I live. I've had them almost 30 years so far, and have passed them along to my three children. They have all had good experiences with USAA and have never had any issues. I have had to file claims with them in the past, and every time, they are great. They are professional, helpful, and resolve the claim in no time. I'm always given fair compensation. They really know how to care ... for their customers. More Less

I've been a USAA customer for over 10 years, and I can honestly say that the company is going down hill. I shouldn't put it that way, but there customer service has definitely gotten worse. I remember when I'd call and they were the nicest people I've ever talked to. Now I call and I'm answered by rude woman, or unprofessional man. I've called numerous times, and it's still the same thing. I don't have any other complaints, so I'll stick with them. They should just do more in terms ... of customer service training. More Less

I am not a policy holder with USAA, but I have been dealt with them in the past. I was hit by a reckless driver, straight on and at full speed on my driver side. I was so badly injured I spent weeks in the hospital and am still on therapy. The driver ran a red light, is completely at fault, but USAA is not resolving their claim properly. It's been months, and they have not worked with my insurance company and I have not received any compensation. Why am ... I responsible for the damages caused my a reckless driver? That's what insurance companies are for. More Less

USAA is amazing! I was hit on the side with my 12 year old daughter in the car, which was scary enough. Luckily, we were both okay, but then I had to deal with my car. My USAA asked multiple times if we were okay and seemed the genuinely care how my daughter and I were doing. He then proceeded to process my claim and was able to get us a check to repair the damages. Everything was done so quickly. I'd highly recommend them. They are a great company ... and have great agents. More Less

It's nice that you get people who speak English whenever you call USAA. I'm hearing impaired as is, and speaking with someone over the phone who has a thick accent and doesn't speak English fluently is very difficult for me. I have issues in every day life with this, so being able to call about my insurance and be able to understand the person I'm talking to is great. Just because of this, I give them 5 stars.

I love USAA's customer service! My boyfriend and I share a car and are both on the insurance, and USAA gives us great rates with great service. When a claim was filed they were so great. My boyfriend got into a small accident and USAA covered the damages. They weren't much but they covered them anyway. We weren't expecting such great customer service when we filed the claim, so we were pleasantly surprised.

The only experience I've had with USAA is when my husband was hit by a driver who had them. The front of his car was smashed in and it was barely able to be driven. He needed a car for work and called USAA to ask about getting a rental. We were astonished when they refused to get a rental for him. I work too, so we had to figure out a way to get him and me to work. It was so inconvenient. USAA does not help out the ... people their drivers hit. More Less

USAA must assume that every person in the world is a car expert, or at least a mechanic. I was rear ended by a USAA insured driver and my car ended up in the shop for a week. I called the USAA claims dept. with a question, and they shot back some questions of their own. They asked me things like, how long will my car take to fix? Have the parts been ordered yet? I don't know why they think I'm in there with the mechanic and know exactly ... what is going on. They should probably contact the body shop before they ask everyone these questions. More Less

Originally got my insurance through my grandfather and now through my son. They are far and away the most responsive to claims of any insurance company that I have ever dealt with. My son uses them for all of his insurance and financial planning needs and I know that he is in good hands.

As an army wife, I am extremely satisfied with USAA. We've had trouble in the past with car insurance companies when mu husband has been deployed. They want him to keep his full coverage and pay the full premium even though he will be overseas and his car will not be used. We've even been told our policy will be canceled if he doesn't keep his full coverage. USAA let my husband keep his car insured for only about $5 per month, which is very reasonable. He was able to ... come home and continue his insurance coverage like he never left. USAA made it all so easy for us. More Less

I've always found that USAA insurance agents will do anything for me and my family. We currently have four drivers on our insurance (myself, my husband, our two children) and a total of two cars. When my son was in an accident, USAA made us feel at ease. We were worried about our premiums going up so much (they are already high with too teens on our policy) but they only went up a little bit. They took care of everything.

Best parts about USAA are their rates and the other member benefits they offer. But they have their downsides too. They are always very eager to get you to sign up with other types of coverage or products that they offer, and are strict if you happen to mess up once and miss a payment or two.

USAA would rather lose valuable customers than pay out a few hundred dollars. I joined my now-husbands USAA car insurance when we married 9 years ago, and he'd had them for 4 years prior. We were in an accident when our car slipped off the road during a snow storm. After our car was fixed, we got a bill for $300. USAA had only covered a small portion of the damages when we thought they'd cover all of it. They were unresponsive when we wanted them to pay the rest. ... They obviously didn't care if we stay or went. They made that very clear. More Less

A month ago USAA called my home and told my husband that if we did not pay off our remaining balance for our premium our auto insurance would be terminated. He called back the next day with a few questions. They wouldn't really give him answers and insisted that he pay off the balance. We've never filed any claims in the 8 years we have had them and we have never been late on a payment. Nevertheless, my husband was irate and immediately canceled our policy himself.

I've been a member with USAA since the early 1980s and have always been impressed with their service. They respond promptly to requests, their rates are reasonable, they pay promptly on claims and their customer service is excellent. I can't tell you how many times I've been on the phone with an ever patient agent as I searched around my house for paperwork or for a family member to ask a question. The agents also do whatever they can to save me money. When I take surveys about insurance and ... they ask if I would change insurance companies, my answer is always definitely not. I have been a member with USAA for over 15 years, and have consistently received the highest level of customer service with every interaction I have with them. Their rates have been by far the lowest when compared to every other insurance company out there, at least as far as car insurance goes. I have had several different policies with them throughout the years and I am always amazed at how much lower their quotes are compared to everyone else – usually about 40% cheaper than the next lowest competitive ... quote. But they don't just offer car insurance. I have also had renter's insurance through USAA and both a checking and savings account. Again, all of their rates are by far the most impressive when compared to every other comparable company. Their customer service representatives are the nicest and most helpful that I've ever dealt with. I truly just cannot say enough wonderful things about USAA and all of their products! More Less

I am an ex US Army Officer and have USAA as well. They are about as competitive as it comes and they also have accident forgiveness. That means your rates do not increase in case you are in an accident. They are highly selective about who the insure so be careful switching to another company, they may deny you if you try to switch back. My ex wife found that out first hand!

Since the beginning of my membership I have always received excellent customer service anytime I have called in! This company by far has the best policy discounts upon qualification. I'll admit, I joined in my lower twenties with not the best record and USAA still gave me amazing rates! I now have 2 auto insurances with them as well as a few other services! I will always stay with them and and I would Highly recommend them to anyone!

USAA is an top of the line insurance company. I started out having them for myself years and years ago, and have since added my husband and two children. They were great when I added both my sons, who are teenagers. I was expected a huge jump in my premium, but instead, they gave me a reasonable rate. I got quotes for my son's auto insurance just to be on the safe side, and USAA has them beat by hundreds. They're a great insurance company for families.

My wife was hit while stopped and waiting to make a left turn down our road. It caused a little damage to the rear, but nothing bad. We didn't think it was significant enough to file a claim with USAA since it was more of a cosmetic boo boo. My wife told the other driver we wouldn't file, and they both went on their way. We reported it to USAA and let them know we weren't going to file, but they went ahead and filed anyway. We got some nasty ... phone calls from the other person and their insurance company. We had to deal with all of that even though we had no intention of making a big deal out of it. More Less

I went to USAA after being with Progressive for over 8 years... For the last 2 years I was with Progressive, they would raise my rate every 6 mos and when I would call to threaten to cancel, they would put it back. I was accident and infraction free during this whole time period. The last time they did it, I contacted USAA and they were able to give me BETTER coverage at a LOWER rate. So, I would have been a fool not to take ... it! Since then, my rate has stayed pretty constant (even with a moving violation). It is well worth switching to them if you meet the enrollment criteria! Been with them for about a year now. More Less

Look out! I've been a USAA member for 10 years. I've had their auto insurance the entire time but have never had to use it. I've never had a claim or accident and my insurance is going up $250 this year. USAA said it was a statewide increase however my neighbor's policy did not increase. I've seen this trend for the past several years and have been unhappy with USAA's performance. At one point they were untouched in all categories. Now I think ... if you look around you can find better in each individually. More Less

USAA has been my auto insurance provider for about 10 years, and for good reason. They have great customer service and are always ready and willing whenever you need them. I've never filed any claims with them, but this year, my premium went up about $300. I asked why and was told it was an increase for everyone in my state. I spoke with friends and family, and no one else's policies had increased. They're still a good company, I just don't believe them when they say it was an ... increase for everyone. More Less

I freely admit that I have been using USAA for Auto Insurance for many years. I had to use another Insurance for a few years while married to my ex, because his driving record was so awful. I quickly came back though, because USAA seriously is the best company to work with for any type of insurance, but particularly Auto. It is the smoothest experience to report a claim and get the work done on a car. I can call to request a quote for possible ... changes to coverage and it is quick and easy. They are helpful with any questions I may have. I would never go to another insurance provider again. More Less
