I've been using this service for years now and don't even bother with any of the other "free" sites. This one is totally legit and gives me access to everything I need to see. Definitely would recommend to others.

I'm all for free, but I also like things that make sense. To me it makes no sense to only check your credit report once a year. That being said, I hate to pay for something I can get for free. I still use this site and only do one credit bureau at a time so I see my credit report more than once a year, but I really wish they would do this quarterly. That would make so much more sense.

The good stuff about this is that I got a free credit report. No money changed hands, no credit cards were put in--I came out of it with a truly free report. The bad is that this is run a lot like the government. You aren't a priority and you will find that out if you try to get some customer support.

Each individual is entitled by law to one free credit report annually from each of the three major credit reporting agencies; TransUnion, Equifax and Experian. Unlike bait and switch websites that offer “free” credit reports that turn out to be monthly memberships that are automatically charged to your credit card, the reports that are available through AnnualCreditReport.com really are free. Links to each of the three credit reporting agencies are conveniently located right on the AnnualCreditReport.com website, which is convenient for retrieving your credit reports and for filing a ... dispute concerning one or more items on your credit report. The AnnualCreditReport.com website isn't as slick as some of the commercial imitators but it is reasonably easy to navigate and – more importantly – there is no attempt to upsell you. The only drawback is that you do not obtain a credit score, although the individual websites will offer to provide your score for a fee. I can get credit scores on CreditKarma, so that's not such a drawback. There are also two fairly amusing videos associated with AnnualCreditReport.com posted on YouTube that spoof commercial credit report websites. More Less

It is always good to be knowledgeable and proactive about your finances. Being able to check my credit without having to submit any credit card info, is even better. I have used this company once a year, for the last several years.
