This is one of many credit monitoring services that you pay for. I've tried a few, and I thought this one would be like the others. The answer is yes and no. Yes, it does offer me 24/7 access to my score and the monitoring is good and seems to be thorough. I have to say, though, that the price is a bit higher than other sites.
Yikes, $29.95! That is really high for this service. They aren't offering hardly enough services to charge this much. Someone is making money, and it isn't you! I would suggest looking around for other deals that are similar but cheaper. There are a lot of good companies out there.
When you read things like "delivered instantly," it can be hard to stay away and not click the buttons. That's what happened to me when I saw that on this website. I really wanted to know my credit score, because I was having trouble qualifying for a mortgage. They did deliver the credit score instantly, and then it seems almost as instantly my 7-day free trial ended and they started charging me. :(
I wish I could say that I found this site because someone recommended it highly, but the truth is that I put into the search engine "Check My Credit Score" and this came up. I'm sure that's what they intended when they created the site name! Anyway, it has served me well in the area of checking my credit, so I can't complain.
As another reviewer mentioned, their price of 29.95 is higher than other places with the same or even better service. For that reason I would suggest looking around a little more than I did before you sign up. Other than losing out on a few bucks every month, this is a good service. that has given me important info about my credit.
Credit scores are definitely important, and this place allows you to check yours whenever you want--from all three credit reporting bureaus, but the truth is thta checking your score is limited when it comes to protecting you from identity theft. What you need to see if your report to look for fraudulent accounts.
A friend suggested I look into signing up with Check My Credit Score. I seriously considered it, but decided to stay instead with my credit monitoring service. I decided to stay because mine is cheaper and it gives me access 24/7 to my credit report. This site only seems to give you monitoring alerts and your credit score.
The blog on the bottom of the homepage was useful to me when I was trying to decide which company to go with for my credit monitoring. I liked reading about the range of credit score numbers and more about what they all mean.
Pretty good service. They are quick to deliver your credit score and report, as they mention on the site. I think, though, that the price of 29.95 after your first 7 days of a free trial is higher than some other sites. I've seen the same benefits for 14.95-19.95, so I think that I might look into getting out of this site and onto another.
This service is really pricey for what you get, which is essentially your credit score from three of the agencies. Yes, it's good to know your score, but there are other companies that give you your score, and your report and monitor as well. And some have other services such as monitoring if your SS# is stolen. So I think this is overpriced.
When I signed up for Check My Credit Score I should have paid better attention to the name of the site. I wanted to check my credit, not just my score, so I was disappointed when the information they delivered to me in seconds was my scores with equifax, transunion and experian. Now to find a place that gives out reports all of the time.
There are other sites that have way better benefits. This place only gives you daily monitoring and alerts and access to your credit score with all three bureaus. Sure that is useful, but what is more useful is the actual report to show all of the accounts you have open. That way you can spot an account you didn't open before any damage is done.
I would recommend this company if you are trying to get a good handle on how your credit score fluctuates on a regular basis. It is also good that the scores you are given are for all three of the big bureaus. I average mine together and figure that it is probably close to my FICO score.
This site works well, I have to say that. When I signed up, I did get my credit scores from the three biggies--transunion, equifax and experian--within a few seconds. It was good to comprae how they each stacked up against one another. Not sure how they could be so different, but I guess it's somewhat of a subjective thing.
I have found the daily credit monitoring and alerts to be really valuable. I had a scare regarding my identity and needed to have things checked on a regular basis. I couldn't do that on my own--no way to--so I turned to Check My Credit Score. The regular alerts kept me apprised of my situation until it was resolved. Now I keep the service so I can stay one step ahead on my credit.
