GEM Federal Credit Union (Company)

It all began in 1940; a credit union for city, county, state and federal employees. GEM Federal Credit Union started in an office in the basement of the Federal Building and was known then as City and County Municipal Federal Credit Union. With its ever expanding membership, the location on East Central Avenue was purchased. GEM remained in that location until 2011, when flood waters filled it’s walls with nearly 12 feet of water. The decision was made to leave the river valley for a dryer location on North Hill – our current location.

Today, GEM FCU continues to service city, county, state and federal employees as well as employees of SRT. We strive to serve our members with exceptional service and the latest technology to make banking easier and more convenient.
