My husband had Esurance for his home and when we got married, we just got a policy through them for the new home we'd bought together. Everything was fine and dandy. Then we filed one single claim. A month later they let us know they were canceling our policy. They didn't state a reason. My husband has had them for 8 years and has never had any issues with them until now. File one claim, and they will drop you too.

I'm pretty satisfied with Esurance. I have them for my homeowners insurance and so far, we haven't faced any issues. That being said, we haven't had to file any claims. My premium has not been increased as of yet, and we've had them for almost a year. Their customer service department is decent. No, they don't go out of their way to make you happy, but they are nice enough. All in all, I think they're a good insurance provider. We'll see what happens if I ever have to file ... a claim, though. More Less

I've decided to cancel my Esurance policy because I've found better service elsewhere. I originally got them about 5 years ago because they had a decent quote. For 5 years I've dealt with horrid customer service and a pain in the neck claims department. They've also steadily increased my premium, without even informing me. I eventually just got tired of dealing with them. Hopefully my new insurance provider will be better.

I filed a claim through Esurance for a burglary. Nothing major was taken, nor was there major damage done, but there were still some things that needed to be taken care of. Because my case wasn't so important, my claim was put on a "standby" list. I figured okay, I don't need anything done at this very moment, it's fine. But no. They never called me back. One month later and I'm still calling, trying to get a hold of someone who can handle my claim, or at least, deny ... my claim! More Less

Esurance has the worst worst worst customer service out of every single insurance company out there. At first, I thought maybe I just got a bad egg and I decided to look past it. Then I had to file a claim (water damage in my home) and they were even worse! They were the rudest bunch of people I've ever spoken with. They even gave my son attitude when they called and he told them I wasn't there. I was at work! No, I will not deal with them anymore.

I've had Esurance for my homeowners insurance for a few years and so far nothing has gone awry. That being said, I haven't had to file a claim or anything of the sort. My kids recently all moved away to college and my husband and I decided that we didn't want to burden of a home. We wanted to be able to rent wherever we felt like it. I asked Esurance about any cancellation fees and was told, twice, that there weren't. But we went to cancel and all of ... a sudden there were fees! What liars! More Less

Isn't an insurance company supposed to be reliable and give you a hand when you need it? Esurance did the opposite. They literally dropped us when we needed them the most. Our house suffered some damage from a fire that took out a good portion of the back bedrooms. Esurance sent us a letter during the time we were filing our claim and stated they are letting us go from their insurance. Since then, we've had to find other means of fixing the damages because they obviously don't want to ... help. More Less

They have the worst customer service! I'm not sure if I just happen to get in contact with every new employee every time I call, but they really are horrible. I spoke to two different claims representatives, and they both gave me different information. I was a little weary, so I asked to speak with a supervisor, and he also gave me different information. I'm going to shop around for another company as soon as my policy is up. I can't handle having people who have no idea what their ... doing handle something has important as my homeowners insurance. I honestly have to say that Esurance is not worth the price. I've had them for a couple years and they provide decent coverage. My homeowners insurance has steadily increased in those couple years and doesn't seem to be stopping. I was fine with them when they offered me the lowest quote for decent coverage, but I'm paying so much more for the same insurance. In my opinion, they really are not worth all of this extra money.

After treating us like crap, Esurance has the gall to charge us a cancelation fee. They really were horrible when we were filing a claim. So bad that we made them fully aware of it by speaking with managers and expressing our opinions to various employees. We were finally fed up and decided to cancel our homeowners insurance. They charged us a cancelation fee. I argued that they made us cancel, but they would not budge.

I've had Esurance for my homeowners and have only recently had any issues. They've been great for the past couple years. My premium has slightly, only SLIGHTLY increased each renewal period. But all of a sudden, my rate goes up almost 25%. We haven't filed any claims or had any issues with our home, so why our rate went up SO MUCH is beyond us. Don't get me wrong, I like Esurance, but that's a little much.

Esurance has absolutely no respect or regard for their customers. I've had homeowners insurance through them for quite some time, and just recently, have filed my first claim ever. The claims department has failed to contact me further regarding the damage done to my home, even though I've been calling daily for a week. I've tried contacting customer service directly, and still nothing. I'm not sure what else to do, other than sit and wait.

Esurance used to be a great company. My parents had them for their homeowners insurance and I got them for mine, too. In those days, you could call and you'd speak with the nicest Esurance representative. Nowadays, you call and you get a rude, condescending person who has better things to do than assist you. Because of these inconveniences, both my parents and I have switched to another company. We value customer service, and it is obvious that Esurance no longer does.

Esurance let my family down, and I'll never forgive them for that. As a single mother of four, it's my job to take care of my kids. I pay extra for Esurance's insurance so my home will be protected and my kids will be comfortable. We had a water leak after a storm that effected two of my children's bedrooms. Esurance waited so long to deal with the claim that the water damage caused mold. Now my kids can't go upstairs and have to sleep on the pull out sofa. ... Esurance let us down. They are an awful company. More Less

As a long time Esurance customer, I can safely say that their service has gone way downhill. I used to file claims with them and they'd be resolved within a week. I'd get adequate compensation to cover any damages without question. But in the past year or so everything has changed. I filed a claim for my homeowners and they were so incredibly rude. They also did everything they could to not give me a reasonable pay out. They should go back to the way they were.
