Very disappointed in Geico customer service. We missed premium payment by 10 days due to several deaths of friends and family that interrupted our normal routine. Despite explaining the unfortunate circumstances that caused our late payment, Geico refused to reinstate the policy from the due date so we could avoid a state fine for interrupted service. Aggravated, I decided to compare the premium with State Farm (which I had assumed would be higher). Lo and behold, we saved 2/3 of the premium by switching to State Farm!!

Geico is such a great insurance company. I currently have homeowners insurance through them, and they've been such a help whenever we've filed a claim. Both my husband and I have contacted them to file claims and they treat both of us with such respect. They have such professional claims representatives and are always there for us when we need them. We have yet to contact them for any other matters, but for claims, they are great.

I recently had such a bad experience with Geico. I've had my homeowners and auto insurance through them for years, and hadn't filed a claim until about a month ago. There was damage done to my home and I immediately called them to file. The customer service was lacking and I was not treated like I should have been. It was not HORRIBLE, but you don't want anything less than the best when you pay all this money for insurance. You want them to help you and be professional, which ... I did not get from them. I think it's a bit odd that Geico doesn't offer homeowners insurance directly. I mean, don't get me wrong, I haven't have any issues with them so far, but I've never done business with an insurance provider that outsources its services. Everything is done through Geico, so you wouldn't really know unless you looked into it. I've only gotten my homeowners insurance through smaller companies before, so maybe that's why. Nevertheless, they offer decent coverage for a decent rate.

I've been with Geico for 6-7 years now. They've been such a good asset to me and my family when needed. A few months ago I contacted their 'Customer Care' department. None of the associates could help me, so I was transferred to the department manager. The manager was so ride and disrespectful. You're supposed to take care of your customers, not treat them like that! I was so upset I switched to another company that treats me better.

Geico is a pretty decent provider for homeowners insurance. I've only had to file one claim with them so far, and they handled it quickly. The claims representatives are pleasant to speak with, and they had a very professional demeanor. I only wish that Geico would offer more discounts for their customers. They really have a good thing going, so I don't think I'd change insurance providers simply for a few discounts. I would recommend Geico.

I'm giving Geico 4 stars because I have never had to file a claim with them, so I don't know how that aspect of their business works. I recently bought my first home and since I had my car insurance through Geico, I just went ahead and got my homeowners insurance through them as well. They have been nothing but good to me. I applied online and it was so easy to do. I didn't have any issues and the process was a smooth one. They provided me with a ... decent quote for decent coverage, which is all I asked for. I'm confused as to why my premium goes up every year for my homeowners insurance, even while I haven't had any claims filed. I haven't yet contacted Geico, but will do so soon. This is my third increase, with no apparent reason. I've had two other companies for homeowners insurance, and this has never happened. Geico's customer service has always been great, so I don't foresee any issues when I contact them to ask.

My husband and I recently bought our second home after moving to a new town. We generally keep our insurance providers local, and when our company didn't cover our new area, we began looking around. All of the companies in our area offered homeowners insurance for either an insanely expensive premium or very low coverage. Since we had Geico for our auto insurance, we figured we'd try them next. They offered a better rate for decent coverage, compared to what we'd seen. They're a great company to get homeowners insurance ... with. More Less

I love Geico's insurance, but am not a fan of their customer service department. I've filed a few claims through them and they've been nothing but amazing getting them settled. But when you actually call the customer service line, it's a different story. I've emailed before, and they were nice and everything. But when I called with a simple question, they were not nice. They were somewhat belligerent and I didn't appreciate that from my insurance company.

I got an online quote for homeowners insurance through Geico, and was pleased with the amount. I'd been shopping around for quite some time after my last insurance provider screwed me over, and Geico offered the lowest quote. After I began a policy with them, though, my rate went up. I asked a customer service rep and they stated that quotes aren't guaranteed. I understand that, but the increase was significant. Since I've just started my insurance with them, I'm going to stick it out and see how it goes. ... Maybe it'll be worth it. More Less

Geico continues to increase my homeowners insurance rate without letting me know. My previous insurance companies would send me a letter with the start date of the increase, but I've never gotten anything from Geico. They've never called, emailed, sent a notice, or anything. My bill is almost double what it was when I initially got a policy through them two years ago, and I have yet to file any claims.

Geico told us to get insurance through another company! My husband and I recently bought our second home and just transferred our insurance through Geico. Soon after we had a burglary (with some property damage done) and had to file a claim. Apparently we had too many claims because Geico decided to cancel our insurance. When we called to dispute the cancellation, they told us they we should just get our homeowners insurance elsewhere. Five years means nothing to them!

We've had Geico for a couple years now for our homeowners insurance, and we couldn't be happier. About a year back, my wife lost her job, and making ends meet was hard. We contacted the Geico bill pay department, and explained our situation. They were very empathetic and understood that we needed to pay our insurance premium a week or so late. Their customer service is out of this world, and they definitely value their customers.

After seven years with Geico, you'd think they'd have some sort of loyalty program for their customers. Our home was damaged, which was covered under our insurance, and we filed a claim with them. Immediately, our rates went up almost 60%. I contacted customer service, but nothing has changed. After seven years without any claims, you'd think we'd get a discount of some sort. But no, they are only concerned with their money.

I won't mention the name of my previous homeowners insurance providers, simply because they were horrendous. After switching to Geico, I am a much happier camper. They offer decent rates for good coverage of your home. I know they don't really offer discounts for loyal customers, or if you don't have a claim, but they offer a great customer service department. When you need help or have a question, having someone there is priceless. I'll pay a little extra money to have their representatives available for me.

We've been loyal Geico customers for over 10 years. They cover our home insurance and have done a pretty good job. But when a storm came through my town and a tree fell on the roof, completely caving it in, they wouldn't pay us the full amount needed to repair it. They only compensated us for about 75% of the cost. Luckily, we had a family friend who would work on it and let us pay him back in weekly payments. They let us down when we needed their help. ... I mean, our roof was CAVED IN! Were we supposed to just leave it and enjoy the breeze??? More Less

I ended up searching for online quotes after my last insurance company hiked up my premium without my knowledge. I got a quote through Geico, and yes, after I signed for the policy my premium slightly increased, but it is still cheaper than what I was paying before for the exact same coverage. Maybe they're able to keep their policies at an inexpensive price because they outsource their insurance providers. I'm not sure, but I do like them as my provider.

I'm notorious for switching my insurance companies. What can I say, I'm always searching for a good deal. When a different provider offered me a lower rate for homeowners insurance, I made the switch from Geico to the new company. They ended up raising my premiums for two straight years, even though I hadn't filed a claim. I ended up going back to Geico, because they offered the same rate I'd had before. So far, we haven't had any premium increases with Geico, and we're happy about that.

I'm a little disappointed in Geico. We've had our homeowners insurance through them (auto through another company) for 5 years now. They continue to raise our raises, every time we renew. We get that our premium will increase when we file claims, but even when no claims were filed, they still raised them. My wife recently called to see if they could lower our rates since we've been with them for so long, but they refused. She also said they were rude to her. I don't want to deal with ... a company that doesn't care about it's long time customers. More Less

I've been in the customer service industry for 30 years, so I know what's good and what isn't when it comes to how you treat your customers. While my wife and I were away for vacation, some damage occurred in the foundation of our home. When our son arrived home from work, he immediately contacted Geico (because he couldn't reach us at the time). Instead of politely telling him that the policy holders (my wife and I) needed to contact Geico directly, they continuously told him they could not help ... him. What kind of customer service is that? More Less
