I switched to Nationwide recently and starting to regret that decision. They told me i had to trim my trees, so i did. Then they wanted me to take pictures of my property. They didn't like the first set of pictures i sent and i had to do it 4 more times.so finally they wrote the policy and i paid them. A month later they sent me a notice that they were cancelling me because of the issues i stated above.

I have Nationwide insurance and had damage to my roof. They sent out an adjuster who was very proffesional and didn't mind answering my questions. I had a new roof in 2 weeks and am very happy with rhe work.

I don't understand why i have insurance at all sometimes. I pay rhe premiums so i am protected and Nationwide tells me not to make a claim. I had a burst pipe and the claim was $5000. They covered it but i had to make another claim and they told me if i made a claim they would cancel me so i had to pay for repairs myself.

I was out of town for a week and during that time my faucet leaked and did damage to my home. Nationwide has put me in temporary housing and told me the repair would take 6 weeks to complete. It has now been 5 months and still not done. This has been the worst experience ever!

My husband and I moved for his new job and bought our first home about a year ago. We were used to getting renters insurance, so we figured homeowners would be no different. As with everything, we thoroughly researched every company we came across. Nationwide offered the most discounts for our current situation, so we went with them in the end. They offer a discount if you're married, and since we were newlyweds, we jumped at that discount. It's only 5%. but it's worth it in the long run.

I recently moved my family from a small town inland, to the coast. We were not used to the weather in these parts, so getting some sort of insurance that would cover natural disasters was completely necessary for us. Nationwide seemed to offer the best in terms of coverage for flooding, which was our main concern being so close to the water. Luckily, we haven't had any issues as of yet with this, but knowing that we'll be covered if it ever does happen is great.

Nationwide offers a wide variety of coverage for your home. After being a home owner for almost 30 years, they offer the best options that I have come across so far. They also offer the MOST options, which is also convenient for a home owner. The last thing you want is to have a basic accident and have damage done to your home, and realize your homeowners insurance doesn't cover it. They've been able to help us with weather damage, as well as theft of our big ticket items.

I have to say, Nationwide let me down. I've only had my homeowners insurance through them for about a year. I recently filed a claim when storm-like winds hit my area. The fencing around my property was pushed completely over. I filed a claim and they gave me a check for a very small amount. I knew I couldn't get it fixed with the money they gave me. I called and they told me that's all I would get from my claim. I haven't been able to fix the fence ... yet, because I don't have money for the difference. More Less

I can't believe how inconsiderate Nationwide can be. After being with them for a few years and filing a few claims, our policy was terminated. They sent a notification at possibly the worst time possible. The holidays had just began and our policy was due to cancel right when the holiday season was over. My husband and I frantically called around to various insurance agencies to make sure we had coverage, but it was so hard getting people. Everyone was off, working less hours, or away for the holidays. Luckily, ... we found a company that would get us a policy before our Nationwide one was done, but it wasn't easy. More Less

I cancelled my policy with Nationwide a year ago. They continued to take payment out of my checking account and i didn't notice it . When i called them they said they were not going to refund me because i shouldn't have waited a year to contact them.

I recently bought a new home, and was searching for some home owners insurance when I came across Nationwide. I didn't have any other insurance through them at the time. I spoke with a representative, and they told me about the discounts offered if I bundled my insurance through them. I've since gotten my homeowners insurance through them and have switched my auto insurance over. Compared to having them by different companies, I'm saving about 15-20%!

Not being able to get a quote online through Nationwide really stinks. I'm a single mother of three, and we just moved across town to be closer to family. That being said, I don't have all this time to call up insurance companies and speak with them while they determine a quote for me. Initially, I overlooked Nationwide because of this, but at the urging of a family friend, I decided to get a quote anyway. I'm now a Nationwide customer, and have had a good experience so far.

We had 75 mile an hour wind recently in California and a large portion of my fence was damaged. I called Nationwide and sent them pictures of the damage. They said they will give $300 after the $500 detuctible. There is now way i can get someone out here to fix this for $300. Just taking the damaged portion to the dump will be more then that. I asked if it would raise my rates and she said that it is not her area of expertise. Still trying to figure ... out what exactly is her area of expertise. More Less

I've been a devout Nationwide customer for 10 years, since I bought my first home. I also have my auto insurance through them, with a decent bundle with discounted prices. About a year ago, I had to file my first claim for property damage caused my a tree falling onto the roof after a storm. Natural disasters are included in my policy, so I didn't think much of it. Soon after, I received a letter stated that my premium had almost doubled due to my claim. I called to resolve ... it, but they stated it was going to increase no matter what I did. More Less

In the 5 years I've had Nationwide, I've only recently filed a claim. My roof is a bit older and began slightly caving in. I wanted to reduce the amount of damage caused, so I immediately called Nationwide. They got an adjustor to my house the next day! My claim was filed and resolved, with a hefty check in my pocket, in about a week. The roof is now all fixed up and we couldn't be happier. It was such an easy process.

I live in an area that is very high risk for certain storms. Insurance companies around here know that, so it isn't too hard finding a good policy, but you will be paying higher premiums. I had a previous company who covered us completely when a tree fell into our front porch. A few years later, pretty much the same thing happened on our back porch, but we had Nationwide. They only gave us about 50% of what was needed to repair the porch. They know we live in an ... area with regular storms, and we pay the premium, so I don't know why they won't cover us. More Less

After buying a home with my fiance, we turned to the internet for quotes on homeowners insurance. We'd gotten so many quotes by various companies when we came across Nationwide. Apparently, you can't get a quote online. I had to fill out a form with all our information, and then waited a day for their call. They were very nice and professional, and we ended up going with them in the end. But I really wish they had more online features, as it would have expedited the process.

We applied for an insurance policy through Nationwide when we were buying our first home. The house we fell in love with, and absolutely needed to get, was unable to be insured by Nationwide. They stated that the property has too many claims on it. The people we were buying from said they'd had the same homeowners insurance for 30 years and had only filed three claims. They proved this by showing their records of claims, but Nationwide still refused to insure us.

If you're a bargain hunter like me, Nationwide is the way to go. I've always been a frugal person, so when I purchased my first home and needed homeowners insurance, the situation was no different. I'd gotten quotes from various other insurance companies, and they were all decent, but Nationwide had the best premium rates. I was able to get all sorts of discounts, plus additional discounts for bundling my insurance with them. If you're looking to save a buck, I'd highly recommend Nationwide.

When switching homeowners insurance from a previous company that I had a bad experience with, I got quotes from about 6 different insurance providers. Nationwide gave me the lowest quote, so I decided to go with them. After I actually applied for my policy, my premium was much higher than my initial quote. I spoke with customer service, and they were insanely ride and not empathetic whatsoever. I wouldn't even get a quote from them, since it is not the accurate amount you'll be paying.

Nationwide employees are so extremely unprofessional! My family just bought a new home and I called Nationwide for a quote. The man I spoke with must have been new or something, because he was not the typical "Customer Service Representative" you expect to speak with. He made comments about the price of my home, which in reality, is none of his business. It should be used for my policy, not for him to comment on. They were so unprofessional and impolite.

I got a policy through Nationwide without issue. A few months later, I received a notice threatening to cancel my policy. They stated that my fire place was a hazard and needed to be removed. I called Nationwide and tried to explain that this was not possible. The way the fire place was built made it difficult (and costly) to remove. It was set completely in a stone mantle that was completely built into the wall. The house is very old, so I'm assuming they wouldn't build them this way ... any more. They continued to say they were going to cancel my policy. I had to get a new insurance company, because I was not going to remove the fire place. More Less

All insurance companies are hard to deal with, but Nationwide takes it to the next level. They DO NOT care about their customers. They DO NOT provide excellent customer service. They also DO NOT do their jobs well. My yearly premium they charged was different from my first quote, so that should have been a sign. I had an inspector come out to record the damage done to my home after a break in, and he failed to take pictures. There was clear damage done, there should have been pictures ... taken. More Less

My wife and I wanted to raise the coverage on our home and we contacted Nationwide to do so. Upon another inspection, we received a letter stating what we had to do or change in order to renew for higher coverage. Some of the things they listed were so dumb. They stated that we had too much trash on our front porch and that it was a fire hazard. At he time of inspection, we had those gallon jugs out there (we put them there after we use them, to ... remind us to put them in the car). They were neat in the corner, but I guess that constitutes a hazard. Nationwide needs to quit being so picky and focus on the hazards that really matter. More Less

No one wants to experience a fire in their home, but we did. We were the unlucky souls who arrived home from work one day to find our home up in flames. We contacted Nationwide immediately. The fire marshall arrived on the scene before Nationwide did. He also treated us a lot better. Nationwide was so concerned with how much everything cost, not how we were doing after we had lost everything. If I could have just dealt with the fire marshall, I would have. It's an ongoing process, but ... we have to get it done. More Less

I applied for a policy through Nationwide and seemingly, all was well. I got a letter notifying me of my policy being cancelled three months later. The reason being that there was a leak in my roof. That leak has been there for 2 years and I fully disclosed it when I applied for the policy. I let them know I was not looking to fix it any time soon, since it wasn't a huge problem. They cancelled me anyway. They should've just declined my application.
