Commercial Banking Company is a Georgia thrift bank with branches in Valdosta, Moultrie, Hahira and Tifton. It was founded in 1929 as a state bank in Hahira, Georgia but changed to a thrift charter in 1995, when it was purchased by Langdale Industries. CBC has $227 million in assets and has 57 employees working in five branches. As well as accepting deposits and providing personal, residential and commercial loans, Commercial Banking Company has an Investment Centre that offers investment and insurance services to clients.

What are Commercial Banking Company’s Checking and Savings Accounts like?

Community Commercial Banking has four checking accounts: Choice Checking, Now Interest Checking, 50 Now Checking, and Basic Checking.

Basic Checking is an account for people who need to repair their credit. It has a $100 minimum deposit to open but no minimum balance requirements. The account does not include Bill Pay or a debit card and has a $10 monthly fee that cannot be waived.

50 NOW Checking does not charge a monthly service fee and includes Bill Pay and free online banking. Customers must maintain a daily balance of $1,000 to earn interest, and there is a $250 minimum to open an account.

NOW Interest Checking also requires $250 to open an account but has a $9 monthly service charge. The charge is waived for customers who maintain a $250 daily balance. Account holders must have a balance of $1,000 to earn interest.

Choice Checking only requires $100 to open and only charges a $3.95 to customers who opt for mailed statements. Accounts with e-statement delivery are not charged a fee. There are no minimum balance requirements, and the account includes Bill Pay, free online banking and a debit card.

Commercial Banking Company has three savings accounts: Young Achievers Savings, Personal Money Market, and Basic Savings.

Young Achievers Savings is for customers who are 17 years old or younger. There is a $25 minimum to open an account, no monthly service charge, and balances over $25 earn interest.

The Personal Money Market account has a minimum opening balance of $2,500 and a $25 monthly service charge for customers with a daily balance below $2,500. Customers receive a free box of checks, and interest rates vary depending on the balance of the account.

Basic Savings has a $12 per quarter service charge and a $100 minimum balance to open an account. However, customers who maintain a $100 daily balance earn interest and do not pay a service charge.
