Who is BankAmericard Cash Rewards Designed For?

BankAmericard Cash Rewards is a credit card designed for people with good to excellent credit who want a cash back card with high reward rates on everyday purchases and competitive interest rates that doesn't carry an annual fee. Its long 0% APR intro rate also makes it an attractive option for people who carry a credit card balance or are planning to make large purchases.

What are the Interest Rates for BankAmericard Cash Rewards?

- BankAmericard Cash Rewards' interest rates range from 13.24% to 23.24% APR depending on the credit history of cardholders. There is a 12-month 0% APR introductory rate on new purchases and balance transfers made within the first two months of opening the account. Cash advances have a 16.24% to 25.24% APR and there is a 29.99% penalty rate on new transactions when cardholders are late on their payments.

What Are the Fees for BankAmericard Cash Rewards Credit Card?

- The BankAmericard Cash Rewards doesn't have an annual fee. However, it does have a 3% fee on foreign transactions and balance transfers ($10 minimum on balance transfers). It also charges 3% to 5% fee on cash advances, depending on the withdrawal method used. Late payments incur a $37 fee and returned payments trigger a $27 fee.

What Is BankAmericard Cash Rewards' Rewards Program Like?

BankAmericard Cash Rewards cardholders earn 2% cash back at grocery stores, 3% on gas purchases and 1% cash back on all other purchases. The catch is that the 2% and 3% reward rates are capped at $1,500 in combined purchases every quarter. That still allows for a respectable $180 a year in cash back at bonus reward rates. Once you reach the $1,500 cap, cash back rates drop to 1% on all purchases. There is no limit on the total amount of cash back you can earn, no revolving bonus categories to worry about and cash back points never expire.

A nice feature of the BankAmericard Cash Rewards is that cardholders receive an additional 10% customer bonus when they redeem their cash back into a checking or savings account, which encourages members to save more.

What about BankAmericard Cash Rewards' Signup Bonus?

BankAmericard Cash Rewards gives online applicants a $100 signup bonus to cardholders who spend $500 in the first three months. This may not sound like much, but for a gas credit card with no annual fee, it is excellent.

Does BankAmericard Cash Rewards Have Any Other Benefits?

Benefits and rewards are Achilles heel of the BankAmericard Cash Rewards Visa card. The only benefits are basic services like overdraft protection, paperless statements, text banking and account alerts.

How Is BankAmericard Cash Rewards Better Than Other Credit Cards?

The BankAmericard Cash Rewards is a solid cash back card with decent reward rates, a $100 signup bonus, and no annual fee. It's a good fit for people who are looking for significant cash back rebates but don't want the hassle of revolving categories and complicated rewards programs. It is particularly attractive for customers who also have a bank account with Bank of America because they receive an additional 10% when they deposit their cash back earnings into a checking or savings account.

Although you should probably leave this card home when traveling abroad – it has a 3% fee on foreign transactions – it has competitive interest rates, a decent cash back rewards program and a generous 0% APR intro rate, which make it a solid all-round credit card for everyday purchases.

As mentioned, if you follow Bank of America rules when it comes to your credit cards and pay on time, you won't have any problems. I suggest setting up automatic payment if you are the sort to forget. I have mine set up automatically, but I am pretty meticulous, so I also go on and make sure the payment is made. I also have it set up to pay early in case of any problems. So far it's been a great ride with this card. I've gotten a lot of ... cash back that has made it worthwhile. More Less

Don't ever be late with this card or any other B of A card, as they are not forgiving about that. I found this out just recently when a payment I thought went through didn't. I was shocked to find an email from them saying I was late on my payment. When I went in I saw a really big late charge, and the customer service guy on the phone told me to forget about getting it reimbursed, and he warned me that it might affect my APR, too!

I almost got rid of my other credit cards when I got this one, because I figured I'd have everything that I would need, but I'm glad that I didn't. I'm not sure that I'm going to keep my card. I've found that it's confusing to know how much you're saving on what with the rewards—for instance is it 1% or 3%? I just wish they would make it the same across the board. Anyway, I have another card that is more clear. Thinking about sticking with that one.

If you are a good rule follower like I am, this card will serve you well. Make sure to always pay on time, if not early and open a checking or savings account with B of A where they can deposit your cash rewards when you get them. Also realize that there are various categories of merchandise for rewards, with gas paying out the most.

If you get a credit card with B of A it makes a lot of sense to also get a checking account with the, because you get a 10% bonus whenever you redeem into one of their accounts. If you use your card a lot, this will really add up. Worth checking into, and I would highly recommend doing so!

B of A says that if you are a Bank of America preferred customer that you can earn a total of 75% back on a checking or savings account. This seems to good to be true, but I'm going to follow it to see where it leads. If it works, this could be my best rewards credit card deal ever.

Pretty generous rewards offering if you use this card to your advantage. I used it a lot initially to get the $100 bonus, which took awhile to get, but I got it the other days. I also like the 1-3 percent you get off of various items and then more on gas and groceries. Not sure how they determine the whole grocery thing, but either way I'm happy to be getting money back with a credit card for a change.

I also have their travel rewards credit card. I got this one for the cash back bonus points, which have been paying off fairly well. I do get some nice perks from buying gas and groceries with this card. There is a cap of $1500, though per year,. Wish it was higher.

Lots and lots of really good rewards come along with this card, so it's worth applying for! I love how there is no annual fee and all of the great benefits, including the $100 cash bonus after you spend just $500 in the first 90 days online! There is no expiration on the rewards, and extra perks if you have a BofA account. Good stuff!

I like this card. I happen to be something of a shopper, so I have found that I have been getting quite a bit of cash back. I am careful to pay on time, because I know from prior experience with another one of their cards that you will end up getting a horrible interest rate if you mess up in that department. I've even used the suggested vendors and got the $100 bonus on the first $500 spent.

No annual fee cards that also have rewards are pretty rare. I know, because I've searched all over the place for the perfect card! I did find this one and am happy so far. I'm really getting a lot out of the various categories of 1 percent on a lot of things and 3 percent on gas and 2 percent on groceries. I try to use the card as much as possible.

Not sure what it is about Bank of America, but they always seem to make you jump through hoops with many of their products. I was excited about the $100 sign up bonus. I read it to mean that I had to buy $500 worth of stuff within the first 90 days to get that bonus, which I did. Come to find out it was only qualifying purchases, and what I bought didn't count. By then I'd used up all of my credit line and had to pay it off, ... so no bonus! More Less

Besides the fact that there are no changing categories with this card, there are also no expriration dates. I can't tell you how nervous I get about the rewards on my other cards and their expiring, because that happened to me once a few years ago. Devastating! I had had big plans for those lost rewards.

Pretty good card, but a little annoying how there are different reward points for different things. I have a little bit of a hard time keeping that straight. You get 3% cash back for gas, but then there is a limit on that combined with any grocery items of $1500 per year. I have to admit that I just use it for whatever and see what happens at the end of each month.

I've had B of A accounts/credit cards for years. This is one of their better cards, as it has a lot of rewards to go along with it, including 3% back on gas and 1% back on other things and 2% back on groceries. You even get a 10% bonus when you redeem into a B of A account.

What's not to like about this card? You get a variety of benefits and they seem to keep coming. For instance, I love the no annual fee. So many rewards cards charge the fee, which eats into any rewards. And if you buy $500 in the first 90 days, you get back $100 of it.

This card is a bit of a joke. The only way to get cash back is often to use the card for offers to very expensive stores. I'm a big box kind of gal and those big name, expensive stores aren't for me, so I'm not sure how much I'm earning in cash back, but every time I look in my account it's not much. I think there are better cards out there and as soon as I finish paying off the balance I have now, I'm going to find ... one. More Less

I really like how this card doesn't have any changing categories when it comes to rhe rewards. I had another card like that and was constantly getting confused about what category I should be buying in, and of course whatever category I wanted to buy in wasn't available when I wanted it. So just spending and getting rewards is a real treat with this card.

Bank of America is one of the big banks and they offer some good products, but I'm not so sure that credit cards are one of them. There are so many loopholes and then when you use the card or don't use the card you are punished. For instance, I've had my credit line reduced for this card after I made a big payment. It was as if they were penalizing me for paying off my card.

I already have another bank and a checking and savings account, and I didn't want to get a B of A account and have to worry about paying charges to have the account, so I didn't get one when they suggested it. When it was time to get my cash rewards that I had made sure to spend enough to get, I was shocked to find that my “cash back” could only be a statement credit, since I don't have a B of A checking account.

I applied for this card on a Monday and got approved by that Tuesday with a credit limit that was $500 more than I hoped for. I've since gotten a lot of things with the card and as a result am getting a lot in points. I would recommend this card as a nice rewards card for your collection.

It's really important to play the game with B of A in terms of all of their loopholes, or otherwise having a credit card does not pay with them and can actually hinder you. As boring as it is, and I know it's a snore, it's important to read all of the fine print. In the fine print lies all of the little exceptions that can trip you up—including the fact that if you are late ever, you can kiss your good APR goodbye.

I drive a lot for work and play, so I get a lot of gas. This card is perfect for that, because you get 3% back on gas purchases. Makes it nice when I'm constantly filling up to know that it isn't quite as expensive as it could be! I recently got a credit limit increase from $1000 to $2000, so I'm able to also use it for other things like groceries, that also get cash back--but lower at 2% for groceries and 1% for other stuff.

I've seen my credit score go up after using this card. Most likely because I took advantage of the opening promotion of spending $500 on eligible purchases and then getting $100 bonus after you make the $500 in purchases within the first 90 days. I have continued to use the card responsibly, paying it off as I've gone along, and I see that my credit limit and score keeps rising.

B of A can have some good points to their cards, but they are so rigid that I sometimes just can't stand to use their stuff. I too was accidentally late once on payment, and I swear, they acted like I had committed a felony with their reaction! I ended up getting a higher APR after it was all said and done, and of course a big late fee. As a result, I am using another card from another place more now.

Many perks with getting this rewards card, including percentage back on grocery and gas. I try to use the card as much as possible in order to get the most out of the rewards. You are best off having a bank of america account, as they work out a variety of ways for you to earn even more rewards when you do that.

After a fairly extensive phone call that verified my income amounts, etc., I did get approved for this card, which is pretty awesome. I love the cash back benefits and the fact that there is no annual fee so far. My credit limit has also been raised recently after three months of paying on time!

I'm really peeved at Bank of America right now. I've had this card for a few years and have been steadily paying off a large purchase I made when I got the card. I've been making small payments—a little over the minimum for awhile. Well, I got my tax return a week ago and decided to put it to good use and pay off a chunk of my credit card. I was so pissed to see a few days later that they did a review of my account and reduced ... my credit by the 1200 I put toward the debt. That really messed up my ratios on my credit score and made me go down a couple points! So much for paying my credit off and making my score go up! More Less

This card is so simple and straight forward that I suggest it to any of my friends who want a rewards card without all of the hassles. You simply spend and you get back anywhere from 1-3 percent into your Bank of America account or onto your statement. I know some people like to see the cash back, but I'm okay with just putting it on my statement. It's money, no matter where you put it!

I am not so sure about this card or Bank of America in general. As I have heard from others, I too made a lump sum payment only to have my credit line reduced by that amount. When I called, they had no explanation. I have an explanation, but of course no one wanted to hear it. That is that they are being unethical by doing this. I am sure I'm not the only one who has paid off $1,800 only to have my credit reduced by that much. I'm ... never getting another one of their cards again. More Less

If you want to get cash back on this card, it looks like the only way to do that is to have an account with B of A. I don't want an account with them, because I've had problems with their accounts in the past. So I'm stuck with just getting statement credit, which works out okay but isn't as fun as getting a cash bonus.

Nice card overall, but the customer service is a bit spotty. Sometimes you get a pro on the phone who answers all of your questions no problem, and other times you get someone who doesn't seem to know much at all about credit cards. Other than that, pretty good experience with this card. I love the rewards.

I was happy to have applied and gotten approved for a credit line that was much bigger than I anticipated. I got a credit line of a whopping $5,000, which is the highest I've ever gotten. The application process went fairly smoothly, although I did have to spend some time on the phone talking to what I think was an underwriter. I have reached the $500 spent so I should get the $100 bonus, although I think it'll be awhile before it posts.

I've had a few run-ins with B of A over the years. I've been a customer for 20 with a variety of different kinds of accounts. I've found that this rewards card is pretty good. They do tout their 1% back on everything and 3% on gas and 2% on groceries, but they don't talk too much about how the cap on spending for the year is $1500, which isn't that much.
