Features

The Chase Slate card is ideal for anyone who needs a financial breather. It has a generous 0% APR on balance transfer that lasts for 15 months. What it lacks in flashy rewards or cash back programs, it more than makes up in no balance transfer fees, which is rare even among balance transfer credit cards..

Who Is the Chase Slate Card Designed For?

The Chase Slate card is a good choice for people with good or excellent credit who have piled up a significant amount of high-interest credit card debt or who want to make substantial purchases over the next year or so. That's because it is one of the few credit cards that does not impose a balance transfer fee for transfers made during the first 60 days after opening an account. Another big advantage is that the introductory 0% APR applies to both balance transfers and new purchases.

Are There Annual Fees?

There are no annual fees for the Chase Slate card.

Does the Chase Slate Card Offer Rewards?

There are no rewards programs associated with the Chase Slate card. Nonetheless, cardholders enjoy a number of perks, including Fraud Alerts and Zero Liability Protection to guard against unauthorized transactions. Purchase Protection protects purchases of up to 500 dollars against damage or theft for 120 days, with a generous limit of 50,000 dollars per card account.

Are There Foreign Transaction Fees on Chase Slate Card?

Foreign transactions are charged a 3%, payable in US Dollars.

Are There Late Payment or other Penalty Fees?

Returned payments are charged $35. Late payments on balances up to $100 are charged $15; late payments on balances less than $250 are charged $27; late payments on balances of $250 dollars or more are charged $37. Cash advances are charged $10 or 5% of the transaction, whichever is greater.

Summary

Many entrepreneurial ventures are bootstrapped using credit cards – the Chase Slate card is a not-bad choice, if you can pay off your debt within the 15 month interest-free period. Likewise, if you need to pay down debts on high-interest credit cards or want to make a big-ticket purchase, the Chase Slate offers a great deal. Just make sure you can pay it off before the regular APR kicks in and you don't miss any minimum payments. You can easily wipe out any savings you made in late and returned payments.

Happy is how I would describe my experience with Chase. And really, really happy. I've had a lot of other credit cards but none that give you so many perks in the same card, including no fee and zero percent for more than a year and now a free FICO score.

This is a great card. I wanted to go on this cruise with my friends for spring break last year and didn't think I'd be able to pull it off. Then I got this card and was able to buy the ticket and not pay interest for 15 months. I'm almost done paying off the trip with a month to spare.

This card was a true find for me. I had some high interest credit card debt going on that was killing me in interest. I have the money to pay it and have been keeping up on it, but I needed a way to catch up. This helped me do thta. I was able to transfer balances to the card without any transfer fees for the first 60 days! That saved me a bundle.

My brother is getting married overseas this summer and he wanted me and my family to go. Really expensive proposition for me, so I decided to apply for the Chase Slate. I was happy to get the card and for the amount I needed to pay for the trip. Best thing is I have 15 months to pay it off without paying interest, which is feasible for me to do.

I found the fraud alerts and the zero liability for anyone using my card without my permission to be very helpful. I had someone start using the credit card on a Friday night and had done a lot of damage by Saturday morning. They covered everything, and I found out about it pretty quickly from their email notification, which I saw on Saturday morning, but had come in on Friday night.

What a huge relief that paying late doesn't raise your interest rate with this card. I was so worried that because I was late due to an oversight that I would soon be paying interest, but that didn't happen. I am sold on this card and am glad I took advantage of the no interest deal.

Besides some run around when I applied, which included having to mail in a document, I have been pretty pleased with this card. I did finally get approved, and I've since really enjoyed the card. Be careful of the late fee, which can be substantial.

For what I wanted to use this card for, it's been pretty useless. I was hoping to transfer over a higher interest rate balance to this card to save on interest for 15 months, but I didn't get a big enough credit to pay off much of anything. Kind of wish I hadn't bothered.

Not sure why I thought it was the case, but I thought this was a rewards card, so when I found out it wasn't I was a little miffed. I do like the fact that you can make balance transfers free of charge for the first three months, though, and I took advantage of that and the zero percent introductory rate.

I have a few credit cards that I wanted to pay off with this card. Fortunately, they gave me a $3000 credit limit, so I was able to transfer over all of my debt. I was a little worried when applying, because I'd read that the CL can be low. Not in my case!

Good credit builder and credit "payer offer" type of card. You can really get ahead in the fifteen months they give you to pay things off without charging interest. Just don't go crazy because it's so much time and think you can charge things up. I didn't do that, thank goodness. I paid off my balance I transferred instead!

What's not to like about this fabulous card! Zero percent interest for 15 months; no annual fee, no transfer fees...This list goes on. just like my happiness with this Chase card and Chase in general. If you want to get out from under a bunch of debt, this is the card to get.

Quick and easy application with this one and instant approval, which was nice. I did find out the hard way that you don't want to be late on a payment. There are hefty financial consequences. Otherwise I've been having good luck with this card.

I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to get approved for a Chase Slate, because I know they like good credit. Mine is pretty good, and obviously good enough, because I got approved for a 1,500 CL. It looks like I'll be able to transfer over some debt from another couple cards to take advantage of the zero percent interest for the first 15 months.

I like how you get to see your monthly FICO score with Slate. They put it on your dashboard on your online account. I also like the zero percent interest rate for more than a year. But beware once that year is up, because your interest rate can go up as high as nearly 23%!

No balance transfer fees during the first 60 days meant cha ching--great savings for me! I had a high balance card that I gladly transferred. I saved a bundle in interest--since it is 0 percent for 15 months. I'm so glad that I got the card. If you have a balance to transfer, take advantage of this offer.

Pretty good deal with this card. There is no annual fee, and you get the first 15 months without any interest charged. If you plan on buying something big, like I did, this is a boon. And any savings you do make in interest isn't then eaten up by a pesky annual fee. I also like the look of this card!

I did finally get my Chase Slate card, but it wasn't without pulling out a few hairs. I applied and they needed more info--several times. I had thought that applying for credit cards was pretty easy nowadays with everything being online, but they wanted more and more from me, and I'm not sure why. I did get the card finally--and I used it to celebrate!

The best use for this card is to pay off other cards. There aren't rewards, but the reward is that you don't have transfer fees. And the 15 months without paying any interest makes paying things off truly possible. I am in the middle of paying off what was before three credit card balances, and it looks like it will be paid off within the 15 months!

15 months of zero percent interest is amazing!!! This helped me to pay off two other cards that were dragging me down with terrible interest. I would still be paying them for the rest of my life. I am really happy how this turned out. Also I saved money with the no transfer fee when I first signed up.

Except for the hefty late payment they will make you pay with this card, it is a good one. The transfer balance fee waived and the zero percent fo 15 months is the bomb! I was able to buy a tv set I really wanted and am just about paying it off-well before the 15 month marker.

This card has its issues. The biggest being that when you make an electronic payment, it can take several days to post! So keep that in mind when paying, because the late payments are big--especially if you have a high balance, at which case they are $35. I also am not enamored with their customer service.

Take advantage of this card before they change the 15 months without interest! They're not saying they're going to, but I can't believe it is that long. Many of these deals last 3-6 months which hardly gives you time to pay anything off and you are just moving money around. I love this!

If you have relatively good credit and want to wack away quickly at some high credit card interest, then I would suggest this card. It is a pretty straightforward procedure to apply, and you get over a year of no interest to pay off those high-interest credit cards.

I was denied the Chase Slate Card, which really surprised me, since my credit is at 780! I had gotten out a credit line that I wanted to pay off, but the interest was making that impossible, so I tried to get this card. Fortunately, I persevered and called their reconsideration line. After talking to a gal there for awhile, she pushed it to the higher ups and I ended up getting a card. Not with as high a CL as I'd hoped, but enough to help with my situation.

I had a bunch of credit card debt coming out of a failed marriage. I had kept my credit intact, though, so I qualified for Slate. The zero percent interest for 15 months allowed me to consolidate the debt on the various cards, some of which were very high interest rates, and get the total paid way down.

Loved the easy application and the fact that they gave me a $1000 credit limit pretty quickly. Looks like the card does work in terms of getting a break from paying interest. I happen to have a $900 credit card that I want to pay off, so this will work well.

I'm not someone who uses credit cards for the rewards, points, etc., so know that I didn't sign up for this card for anything other than the 0% APR on a balance transfer. The only thing I have to review is the customer service--simple, fast, not a long wait when I called to set up the card. All I want is simplicity, and so far so good!

0 votes

Yes, this card does give you 15 months at zero percent interest, and it doesn't have an annual fee, but honestly that's where the good stuff ends. There are no rewards and there are transaction fees, so be careful if you travel! Also watch out for the $35 late fees.

0 votes

One thing you don't hear much about with this card, but is great is the monthly credit score you get once you get a card. They also, of course, have the no interest transfers and new chrages for 15 whole months. Both of these are amazing perks. Not to mention no annual fee!!

0 votes

Maybe it's because they give you the amazing deal of no interest for 15 months and no transfer fees, but the app process is a little cumbersome and time consuming. I've had other experiences where I was approved almost instantly. Not with this one. It took about 10 days.

I like this card except for the fact that they don't make it all that clear that there is a foreign transaction fee, or maybe I just didn't understand. I heard there was no annual fee, so I assuned that that applied to foreign. Anyway, I ended up with some hefty foreign transaction fees, because I didn't know.
