Who is the Citi Diamond Preferred Designed For?

Citi Diamond Preferred is designed for people with excellent credit who are looking for a 0% APR credit card with no annual fee. It has the longest 0% APR intro rate period on balance transfers and purchases available; so it is a particularly good fit for people who carry a balance on their current credit and want to pay it off interest free or who plan to make large purchases in the future.

What are the Rates for the Citi Diamond Preferred?

Once the intro rate ends, Citi Diamond Preferred credit card has a standard rate ranging from 12.24% APR to 22.24% APR, depending on creditworthiness for purchases and balance transfers. Cash advances have a 25.24% APR. However, what really makes this card stand out is its 21-month 0% APR on both purchases and balance transfers: the longest 0% APR intro rate in the business. Heads up though, cardholders who are late on their payments will trigger a 29.99% APR penalty rate, which may apply to the account indefinitely.

What Are the Fees for Citi Diamond Preferred?

The Citi Diamond Preferred credit card doesn't have an annual fee but it does have a 3% fee ($5 minimum) on foreign transactions and balance transfers, a 5% ($10 minimum) cash advance fee, and a $35 fee on returned and late payments. In other words, don't take this card on a vacation abroad and avoid using it for cash advances, if at all possible.

What Is Citi Diamond Preferred's Rewards Program Like?

Citi Diamond Preferred doesn't have a rewards program. Its focus is on helping cardholders save on payments. However, it does have a generous set of services and perks for its cardholders.

What about Citi Diamond Preferred's Signup Bonus?

Citi Diamond Preferred doesn't have a signup bonus. Unless you count a 21-month 0% APR intro rate as a signup bonus, which you probably should.

Does the Citi Diamond Preferred Have Any Other Benefits?

Citi Diamond Preferred includes all the services and benefits you would expect from a prime credit card. These include extended warranty on purchases, a personal concierge service, worldwide car rental service, trip cancellation protection, worldwide travel accident insurance, emergency assistance and identity theft protection. The card also gives members the Citi Private Pass, which gives them exclusive access and VIP packages to entertainment events.

How Is Citi Diamond Preferred Better Than Other Credit Cards?

Citi Diamond Preferred is one of the best 0% APR balance transfer credit cards available. It has a long intro rate, no annual fee and an excellent set of services and perks. The only real caveats to consider are its 3% foreign transaction fee and its 3% balance transfer fee. To illustrate, if your transfer $20,000 of credit card debt, you will have 21 months to pay for it interest free, but you first will have to pay $600 to process the transfer. In its defense, a balance transfer fee is a necessary evil with all major balance transfer cards with the exception of the Chase Slate credit card.
