They suck. I had two charges totaling almost 250 charged to my card. I did what they asked to dispute them. They gave me the run around and then said they were vaild. They were for a hotel that I have never stayed at. I called the hotel and they said they don't have any clue what I'm talking about because my card information was not use there. Bluebird won't tell me where or who has my money just that it was a vaild charges. I'm going to talk to ...
a lawyer and see what can be done.
This card is almost completely Useless! I tried paying bills and go other things online only to be told they don't accept payments from that bank. Then, if you lose your card, you're screwed because you will have no access to your money, not even a temporary way to access it. Unless of course you know someone else who has a Bluebird card, then you can transfer money to that other persons account, who in turn would withdraw the money from their account to give back to you. Really??!! ...
That's what they came up with as a way to get your money? And customer service? Forget it. Because I lost my card, i couldn't enter my card # to get to customer service! I got on Ask Amex on Twitter to ask for a resolution to contacting customer service. They told me to press 0 as soon as you hear the music then press # after each "I'm sorry. I didn't get your card number" a total of 5 times! Really? So you need a backdoor secret way to contact Bluebird customer service. They don't advertise this in their "We're just like a bank without all the fees" in all their marketing. Besides, once you get through to them, you're stuck talking to someone foreign. Stay clear of this card. It is essentially useless!
Don't link your checking account or any account to bluebird. Someone got into my bluebird account, changed my profile and transferred 400 dollars to bluebird and then transferred 478 out of bluebird to some lady named Rebecca fransway. Your only allowed 200 per day to load money on your bluebird but unlimited money going out. This happened at 11:58 pm and another at 12:01 am.
Called the fraud department and they had to send me a voice mail to my phone with a fraud case number. They would not ...
talk to me until I got that case number and called back. I then got the number and called back. They are idiots, the guy gave me the wrong case number. I rechecked the number again and called back, they kept saying it's the wrong number. She called the guy and got the right number. Meanwhile someone is in my account and stealing money and I'm arguing of a number. Go figure they are in Asia. They took the info right and said don't worry you will get your money back. After 8 days The people in Salt Lake City sent me a email saying they declined my 1278 dollar claim because it was authorized. Case closed !! The lady can't add, I never said 1278 so she submitted it wrong. She even read back to me the amount, it was right. But submitted it wrong to salt lake. I called tha same number (fraud dept) and they said there is nothing they can do that I have to right a letter. I wrote a letter, sent certified mail with all my bank account statements proving my case and I have heard nothing from them. That was on 5-7-17 and now it is 5-23-17. I got screwed. For someone to now my personal info and to change my profile had to be an inside job. There is no number to call Salt Lake City Utah. I expected a lot more out of American Express. They went on what the lady put in 1278 and it didn't add up. No wonder they declined the claim. Almost done intentionally so they won't investigate it. Even though they say " this conversation is being recorded ".
Listen to the recording American Express!!!!!!!
HORRIBLE Customer Service!! My husband purchased 3 different BlueBird cards from Walmart (not knowing you can only have one account in your name at a time) He registered one of the cards under his name & I was going to register a second card in my name. However the website was unable to verify my identity all 12 times that I tried. When I called customer service they told me that they're not able to see why I can't be verified & that? the only thing they can tell me ...
to do is keep trying! I'm still not even able to be verified even a week and a half later. We've had to call the customer service number several different times for different issues concerning our account & we've been hung up on at least half of those times after being on hold for 5+ minutes. The BlueBird card & customer service is a complete joke all together! DO NOT PURCHASE THIS CARD!! you will be much happier with any other option!! trust me!!
American Express Bluebird will cancel your card and not let you know so you won't be able to access funds for 7-10 business days. Customer Service Supervisors and helpers lie and don't know about the services they provide. Please use another company, you will be happy, Bluebird is NOT a good choice!!
the worst customer service i ever had to deal with very rude complain about $70 theft on my card would not reimburse me and flag and cut my card off for just turning in a $70 never told me they cut card off or anything claim never got reimburse
I got this card because I bank online with Ally. Anytime I have a check or there is an issue with direct deposit and I get a check, it takes at lease 5 days for the e-check to cash into my account (if it doesn't reject the images). To solve this, I got a bluebird account that way I can cash the check at Wal-Mart into the account and then transfer it to Ally.
I registered the bluebird account and it said, while you wait for you ...
card to come in the mail that they have the option of a temporary card that can be bought at Wal-Mart. I bought this card because I needed to transfer cash into my Ally account. I get home and cannot link the temporary bluebird card to my account. I call customer service and they said because I already have an account it can't be linked. I read to them off of the back of the temporary card where it says it can be linked and funds transferred to an account. They said that I have to create an account with the temporary card. So I said to the girl (who could barely speak English and only said I'm sorry about your experience any time I asked a hard question and would never actually answer anything), so you are telling me that unless I do things in a very specific order the card absolutely cannot be linked nor any funds transferred from this temporary card to my account. She said exactly and sounded so relived that I actually understood this absolute utter nonsense. She told me to just use up the remaining funds on my temp card. I told her how hard that is to do to an exact penny and asked her what my remaining balance was on the temporary card. She looked it up and said that I have $0. I said that is impossible, I had only put $100 on there but should have had at lease $25 left. She said that my last transaction was at a Shell gas station for $29.76 and I pulled out the receipt from that transaction and it was $21.36. I explained this and that still doesn't account for the other missing money either since I had about $25 left. I also stated how impossible it is for me to have perfectly zeroed out the card when buying things with taxes added ect and she just again said I'm sorry for your experience and didn't make a single effort to try to look into the issue. Worst customer service ever and definitely some fraudulent activity. At least I only lost $25 and I am now closing out the account when I literally just received my actual card in the mail today. Will all the issues just starting up I can only imagine the headache. I mean seriously you can't transfer funds from your temp bluebird card to your bluebird account? They don't even play nice with their own flipping cards.
awful!!! awful!!! awful...do not use this card...they have horrible customer service...no help only interested in your direct deposit...rude!!!I am closing my account...
Cash transfers to the card are slow and customer service is staffed by people who are not native English speakers. The card itself is also limited because a lot of places don't take American Express. I strongly recommend taking a pass on this card.
Uggggh literally the WORST card ever! I attempted to get my paycheck direct deposited, but it has been a nightmare. I've been going back and forth with American Express' customer service line and my employer. Then they told me they have no record that I even tried to set it up. Great.
They have the worst customer service ever. Nobody there speaks English so when I called with a simple question about a deposit, it took forever for them to figure it out for me. The card in general is okay but it isn't even worth it if you can't fix any problems.
I am severely disappointed with the Bluebird card. I got one for my son who went off the college, thinking it was an easy way to send him money. He needed cash quick for an emergency, I tried to load the card at the store, and they tell you me can't add money unless the card is there. What's the point then!
If your card is compromised, be prepared to wait 10 or so days to get a new one. They don't offer overnight expedited shipping or anything like that, so when someone used my card and ran it as credit without the pin, I was screwed over and had to wait for a new card.
This has been the most frustrating prepaid card that I have ever experienced. My account was flagged but nobody called to let me know. All of a sudden, my card didn't work. I had to do research on my own to figure out why. What terrible service and regard for their customers.
The holds they put on your money with this card are absolutely unbelievable!! It can be up to 10 business days until you can see the money on the card. That is not convenience, it is ridiculous. Why do I have a card I can't even use until WEEKS after I need to? Cancelling it as soon as I can.
Such a terrible card!! You really can't do anything with it. It is so limited that you have like 2 choices as to what you can do. I would not recommend getting this card unless you only want to use it at 1 place. It is a terrible waste of time! Just get another prepaid card first.
I was on hold for over an hour with a customer service rep who gave me attitude while trying to cancel my card. Nothing was wrong with it, it just doesn't serve a purpose for me anymore. Two stars because the card itself is fine, but it loses all the other stars for how I was treated on the phone.
Their customer service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, which is fantastic! Everything with them is super simple and I love my prepaid Bluebird card. No issues so far and I couldn't be happier. Even when I lost my card I got a new one shipped to me in two days.
This Bluebird card is more of a stress than a convenience. I got it for my son so he could make online purchases from his allowance, but it takes forever for the money to transfer over. Since it takes so long, if you make a purchase, you get charged a fee. Nope, not worth it.
It takes way too long for money to transfer onto the Bluebird card from a bank account. Most times, it takes about 5 days. So, be sure to plan ahead of time if you want to use the card. Other than that, it is a basic prepaid card and I haven't had any other issues with it.
This card is completely useless because half the companies in the world don't even take it!! I got it without realizing and ended up shredding it within a month because I can't pay any bills online with it or even make a lot of purchases in-store. Pretty pointless, if you ask me.
The only issue I have had with this card was that they placed a hold after I had preauthorized the amount for gas. I called customer service, yelled a bit, and they removed the hold. Even with my temper, customer service was awesome. Kudos, American Express.
What a joke. My cards were stolen and someone used my Bluebird card, and for whatever reason, American Express decided that the purchases were authorized and would not credit my account for the amount taken. Luckily it was only a couple hundred, because they obviously had no intention of helping me out.
I have had this card for two days and it was cancelled today due to an unauthorized gas purchase without them even telling me. Thanks, American Express, for not even informing your customers that you are canceling their accounts so when they go try to make a purchase, it is declined.
I have nothing but good things to say about the Bluebird card. As long as you follow the fine print, all is good. I haven't contacted CS yet so I can't comment on that, but overall, I've had a good experience. Purchases and wires are quick and easy. Just as good as any other card.
My biggest issue with this card is that Amex isn't accepted everywhere. That is super inconvenient since I wanted this as an alternative to cash. You always have to think first before you try to pay with it. I'd probably recommend getting a different prepaid card, but this isn't the worst.
Pleeeeaase don't get BlueBird, or any American Express card for that matter. No one they hire for customer service speaks a lick of English, so if you have any sort of issue you are SCREWED. Depositing money is beyond a pain. Just save yourself the hassle and get a different card, okay?
I think this card is completely useless. It takes a week for the money to even transfer over, and the customer service is awful. There are holds for the most random things and you are never informed of anything. I cancelled my account and am now looking for a better card for my prepaid needs.
I'm irritated with this card. I direct deposited my paycheck without issue, then tried to do the same the next week, and was declined. It doesn't make any sense. I don't have time to fuss with this so I will be closing my card soon and getting something else.
