I used them to file my taxes. The services ate up half of my refund. I had to chase the check down because they didn't mail it to me like they said. I made several calls and finally reached the person who had it and she mailed it to me. Highly over rated for over charging and very poor ethics. I am 65 years old. I wasn't expecting "super money" but I wasn't expecting over $300 for their services. I will never reccommend them. Over rated, over charging, and poor ... ethics. More Less

I prepared my taxes myself but wanted to e-file so I went to the local office to have it done. They wanted to charge me practically the same amount as if they had prepared it themselves! That's robbery right there. In no possible way would I ever pay that much just to have my taxes e-filed. I walked right out and just sent in my taxes by mail. I've never done my taxes with them, but now they don't even deserve a shot because of their insane fees.

The customer service at my local Jackson Hewitt office is horrible. We arrived promptly at 1:00pm (our scheduled appointment time) and we were never greeted by anyone. My husband and I kind of just stood there, waiting. I said hello to 2 different employees, who in turn did not respond. Finally, our tax preparer called us over. He was not at all polite. He didn't greet us or anything like that. Our taxes were done well, but just by the service, we will not go back.

Complete and utter rip off! I have filed various times with local tax offices, even though I mostly do it on my own. I've filed my taxes with an actual person, locally, enough times to know when I am being taken advantage of. I ended up paying the $800 fee because I had already invested time with them. They are a complete rip off and you should be aware what you are getting into when you file with them.

Jackson Hewitt used their power to take advantage of my teenage daughter and her boyfriend. They filed and were charged much, much more than they should have been. My husband and I have been using the same tax guy for years now and have never even been charged that much. My daughter filed the exact same forms as my husband and I. I really think they were taken advantage of, and I will never send anyone to this company.

I've never had an issue with a Jackson Hewitt tax preparer before this year. I was okay paying higher prices because I felt like they were very accurate and it put me at ease. I didn't mind paying for a better service (especially when it comes to dealing with the IRS). This year they failed to include anything about my healthcare. I had to fax over my paperwork to the IRS myself. Why did I pay JH to do it when I ended up doing a lot of the work ... myself?? More Less

We were not told of the fees or charges before the person did our taxes. Generally, with every company we've gone to, they'll give you a little bit of an estimate. But Jackson Hewitt did not. They charged us so much! We actually got an email about the service with Jackson Hewitt and it asked if we were told about the fees before the service began. Nope, they failed to do that. I don't think we paid a fair price, so I will probably go back to my old tax ... place next year. More Less

I am so irritated with this company. I was given the same appointment time as another person, and as they showed up a minute before me, they got to go. I couldn't wait around and just left. I then called the customer service number and asked various questions about documentation I'd need. I then made another appointment and everything I was told by the customer service rep was incorrect. I ended up having to make another appointment because I didn't show up with any of the correct paperwork. What a ... waste of time. More Less

Because of a stupid mistake that Jackson Hewitt made, I had to wait twice as long for my tax refund. They screwed up my bank account information where I was going to get the money deposited. I had to deal with their bad customer service and then wait another few weeks for them to sort it out. No one in the office I spoke with seemed to genuinely care. You don't treat a paying customer that way and I will be going elsewhere next year.

Jackson Hewitt boasts a 100% accuracy guarantee, but they are complete liars. I filed my taxes with their online software it said I'd be getting about $1000 back. I thought that was awesome and obviously didn't argue. After I got a notice saying it was accepted by the IRS I went to check the status of my return. It went down to less than $300! I called the IRS and was told that Jackson Hewitt had made an error and that the lower amount was correct. Just awful to be ... able to lie and cheat and get away with it. More Less

We went to Jackson Hewitt after a friend said they were cheap and recommended them. When we first got there we got a quote, and it didn't seem too bad. A week later when everything was finished, the tax preparer told us what the fee was and I almost fainted! It was double the original quote and then some. I argued but the guy was so belligerent and acted like we were the idiots. We aren't going there again!

I've been to Jackson Hewitt twice before for my taxes and this is the first time I have had an issue. My tax preparer was just HORRIBLE. He literally took a call for 15 minutes while I was sitting there, and then afterward stated it was an emergency. The call did NOT sound like an emergency to me. He was incredibly unprofessional and did not apologize or anything. After three years, I will not be going back to Jackson Hewitt. They employ the wrong people.

I filed through Jackson Hewitt as I have done for probably a good 10 years. This year, my return was denied by the IRS because my ex-husband has claimed one of our four children. He has not seen any of our kids for almost 5 years, nor has he been paying child support. Jackson Hewitt told me to take off my son and just file my return. I refused and told them not to send my return, I'd file myself. I recently got a notice saying that Jackson Hewitt had ... filed my taxes and that my return was available. I am now fixing this mess myself and have to wait for the rest of my return. Thanks, Jackson Hewitt! More Less

I am a first time customer of Jackson Hewitt and figured it would be nice for a change, since I usually do them myself. I usually get back a return within a few weeks and expected the same with professionals doing the work. It's been over a month and I have not seen one penny. I have called and no one seems to know anything. Even managers have no clue. I don't know why, because it is literally their job to handle things like this.

The tax preparers here are very, very inexperienced. I recently moved and a Jackson Hewitt office was close (in a Walmart) so I went there. Turns out, I was only going to get about $100 back. I was a little shocked, so I asked my friend who is a CPA. She looked over the documents and told me it was incorrect. I complained with JH and they re-did them. I got back a heck of a lot more. Make sure you check over your taxes so they do not screw ... you over!! More Less

The Jackson Hewitt I went to made a HUGE error while filing my returns. The amount they told me and the amount I actually got were COMPLETELY different. The amount deposited into my account was about $1,600 less. I immediately went back to complain. The person who filed my taxes was not there and all the manager could do was offer me a discount for next years tax prep. I told her thanks, but I will never be coming back to you.

I've used Jackson Hewitt for five years now and I can promise that this year will be my last. I stopped in and the woman waiting on me was so incredibly rude. She was eating- smacking her food in my face- and so rude to me. I made up an excuse why I couldn't get my taxes done then because I didn't trust her to do them and left. I came back a few days later and this guy wasn't much better. They have either gone downhill or are just ... hiring the wrong people for the location I go to. I don't remember it ever being this bad. I will never spend my hard earned money with Jackson Hewitt again. I honestly feel like I paid for them to treat me like a pile of garbage. I went in, got my taxes filed, and paid like a good customer. I didn't complain once when the Jackson Hewitt people were so rude and inconsiderate to me. I was told I'd get some sort of promotion, then told that I didn't qualify for it the next day. It is two days after the date they said I'd get my refund. ... They are a lousy bunch and I wouldn't recommend working with them. More Less

I put my refund on a JH card because I figured that would be the most convenient since it would be used exactly like a debit card. My car was in the shop and I was relying on that money to get it out. I tried to use the ATM and it kept telling me I had a zero balance! I called the card's number and could not get through. I even called the office I had it done and they couldn't help me at all. I can't even ... use my tax refund now and no one can help me! More Less

My husband and I have been using Jackson Hewitt for many, many years for our tax returns. This time around we decided to get our money deposited onto a Jackson Hewitt prepaid card. It was the worst mistake we made! When we got the card, we tried to go out and use it, only to have it be declined. The next day, and the same thing. We are out of town for work and cannot get anyone on the phone to fix this. Nevertheless, we will probably not go back ... to Jackson Hewitt next year because they are awful at helping their customers solve problems. More Less

I usually do my taxes on my own but since I had a few more things to add this year (a house, a child), I figured I'd let someone else do it for me. I originally went to another company and they were not the most professional people around. I left them and went straight to a Jackson Hewitt office. They were a little crowded so a gentleman let me know he'd give me a call when they were completed. I got a call the next day. What great service!

My Jackson Hewitt tax preparer has been there for me for two years now. When I called to make an appointment for this year, I was thrilled to learn that my guy was still there. He did such a wonderful job last year I wanted him again. He knows how to work with people in my profession and works to find me all the deductions possible. He's a great guy and all the Jackson Hewitt people seem to be very nice to work with.

I was overcharged by Jackson Hewitt and they were not helpful whatsoever to give me a refund for my overpayment. I knew the price was wrong, so the day after filing, I called the office back and asked how much my form would be. They gave me a price 1/3 less than what I paid. I explained the situation and they ultimately told me there was nothing they could do. Well thanks, Jackson Hewitt. Screw me over and don't even try to make it right.

I am extremely confused at what went on at the Jackson Hewitt Walmart location. I went to file and a nice woman handled it pretty professionally. I called a few days later to check up on it and the Jackson Hewitt employees had nothing in their system about my return. I am extremely confused and am assuming that the lady did not work for them or something like that. Be careful and be aware so what happened to me does not happen to you.

There were a few things that I wasn't told during the tax preparation process, so I called the next day looking for answers. The person who answered the phone was completely rude and told me that I should have known to ask about these things. Like I was the idiot. I was angry and demanded a refund, which they refused. I ended up getting my refund without an issue, but because they are so unprofessional and awful to their customers, I will not be going back.

Jackson Hewitt is a complete rip off and I will never be going to them again! I went to them this year because I have been so busy and they were conveniently located on my route home from work. They charged me double what I've been charged before, even though my income has not changed a bit. I have also done it myself in the past with online software and it was a fraction of the price. Avoid them unless you like paying high fees.

Jackson Hewitt did my tax preparation a few years back and now I am being audited. I used to be freelance work on the side and my preparer told me since I didn't make more than X amount, I didn't need to claim it for tax purposes. Now I am being audited! Even though it is a few years later I contacted the same branch and was told they couldn't do anything because I did not buy their "Gold Guarantee". What crap! So now I'm dealing with the audit myself. ... Thanks for the support, Jackson Hewitt! More Less

We made an error with our taxes last year and to prevent anymore issues, we brought them to Jackson Hewitt to have a professional do it. Big mistake. I am not a tax preparer, nor is my husband, but we knew something was wrong. We ended up having another professional look it over and he pointed out so many mistakes. Upon bringing the return back to the Jackson Hewitt preparer, she refused to take any responsibility and fix them for us. Save yourself the hassle and go to a real ... professional. More Less

Jackson Hewitt always has such a great team available for you to work with! This is my third year going to the same branch and I couldn't be happier. They really make you feel like they are trying to do the best for you and get you the most out of your return. I have never felt like that with any other tax preparer. They are honest, trustworthy, and charge very reasonable fees for their work. I love them and wouldn't even think about changing.

My husband has a degree in accounting and several years experience as a CPA, and usually does our taxes. He recently took a new job and was away for business, so to expedite the tax process, I decided to go to Jackson Hewitt. I can tell you that they are very unqualified to do your taxes. 1) The preparer seemed nervous, like he was second guessing his choices 2) When my husband returned home he checked the forms and found various errors 3) I paid way too much for this ... level of service. I now know that I should just be patient and wait for my husband to do our taxes. Jackson Hewitt was not worth my time or money. More Less

My husband and I have been doing our taxes with Jackson Hewitt for the past couple years. We've been getting low refunds, but after a while, we just figured it was normal. This year to went to another tax preparer and we got more than double what we normally got with Jackson Hewitt. I think they missed major deductions or made mistakes with our previous returns. I'm not sure what to do, so I think we'll just leave it the way it is for now.

I love my local Jackson Hewitt office! I have been going there for my taxes since I moved to the area, around 6 years now. Every tax season, they provide the highest level of service and quality that you could ask for. From the actual tax preparers to the receptionists, they are always so nice and courteous. My taxes are always filed quickly and my return is sent to my account within a few weeks. They are great and I have no reason to change!

Jackson Hewitt employs untrained tax preparers who are not able to properly file for you. We got a quote from a preparer at our local office and when we came in to file, with everything being the same, our fee went up tremendously. We also could not e-file for some reason and had to send out the forms, which was inconvenient. Our preparer also automatically put our refund on a prepaid debit card, which we did not want. They were very unprofessional and we will not be going there again.

I went to Jackson Hewitt this year after realizing I should really catch up on my taxes. I let the past couple years slip by and failed to file. My tax preparer was absolutely amazing. He took everything in stride and was able to file all three years worth of taxes in one day. He also gave me several discounts and the fee he charged was very reasonable for that amount of work. Not once did he criticize me for not filing. I'd recommend Jackson Hewitt to anyone for their ... great tax preparers. More Less

My wife and I have been going to a local CPA for years until she recently retired. We went to Jackson Hewitt where they charged us double for the same work that our previous CPA had done. My wife questioned the overcharge and the man stated that since he had more education and training than our former CPA, he charged more. The man was very arrogant and did not have any customer service skills. We will not be returning next year.

My Jackson Hewitt tax preparer did not disclose all of the fees associated with my tax return. I had to find out when I got home and checked over the paper work. He was also not the nicest tax preparer I have ever had.. He never really acknowledged me, and I swear we said under ten words combined the entire time. I have been using Jackson Hewitt for a few years and this was my first time with this guy. It kills me to give them a bad review because ... previous times have been okay. More Less
