Had a water leak in the walls and it damaged flooring and drywall, Called a plumber and he fixed it. The adjuster from Farmers came out . A week later they told me they are denying my claim because the pipe had been leaking for quite sometime. Now i have to pay for the repairs. Why are required to carry insurance?
I had to make a claim with Farmers because i got robbed. It's been 3 months since i cotacted them. Now they are making me state under oath what happened and telling me they might give me about 25% of what i lost. I have had them for 20 yrs and never made a claim and they are treating me like im the criminal.
We have had Farmers insurance for 30 yrs. Due to many snowstorms our roof colapsed and damaged the interior of our home. Farmers is not going to cover any of it. I don't know why i pay for insurance. Now i have to pay for a lawyer and for an apt to live in until my home is repaired.
After having an awful experience with the Farmers insurance customer service, I decided to do a little research about this company. We were treated so badly, that we wanted to know if we were alone with this or if other had experienced the same horrific service. Turns out, pretty much everyone experienced the exact same thing. I'm happy we really saw how Farmers insurance works, and we've canceled our policy with them. Now we have a more reliable company for our homeowners insurance.
I am currently taking care of my elderly mother, who lives alone at home. Her home is very old and we recently noticed that there was some wear on the ceiling. Upon further investigation we concluded that there was a leak that was never fixed. I contacted Farmer's and after our deductible they were only willing to give us about $500. What is $500 going to fix? I manage my mothers finances so I know Farmer's is expensive. I'm switching her insurance to a better provider.
I've had Farmer's insurance for about 8 years, without any issues up until this point. After all that time, I've only recently had to file a claim for damage done to my home after a major storm. Immediately, my policies premium increased by 20%, and my deductible for damage greatly increased. I really can't afford all of this right now, so I'm currently looking around for another provider. It's really a shame, since I've been with them for so long and haven't had any issues other than this.
Farmers Insurance is the worst ever when it comes to filing claims. We got a quote, like the told us to, but would only pay out a small amount. What''s the point of insurance if they don't give you money when you have to fix damages to your house? They are so unreliable and failed to return our phones calls on a regular basis. I would not get Farmers insurance if I were you, and now my family is looking for another company to get insured by.
Farmers insurance has been my homeowners insurance provider for almost two years now. My deductible was raised about $200 after renewing for this second year. I mean, $200 is not a huge amount, but why did it increase? Will my deductible increase every year, or is this a one time thing? I haven't been able to get through to customer service as of yet, and when I do, I'll be sure to get everything straightened out. I really just want to know why.
I have my homeowners insurance through Farmers. I live at the bottom of a pretty steep hill that can get icy at times. I'm assuming the road was wet when a teenager drive directly into my front door. Luckily no one was inside. Now we're fighting with Farmer's to help us replace what was lost in the accident. They keep telling us to contact the teens insurance agency. But shouldn't they help us a bit since the damage was done to our home, and they cover our home insurance???
The past season was awful and we suffered home damage. Trees fell into our roof, leaving holes. Then, rain damaged belongings inside the house. Farmers came to inspect the house and appraised several items. I took this as a good sign because I figured they'd give me a check to replace things like furniture. A while later they let me know they conveniently lost the appraisals and no money could be paid out for the things I lost. Thanks Farmers.
Even though I've seen bad reviews for Farmers Insurance, I've experienced nothing but professionalism from this company. Yes, filing a claim is a pain that no one wants to deal with, but it's something that everyone has to do some time. Farmers really helped with my claim, and made it really easy. I didn't have to worry about anything, and they were so professional and prompt when it came to helping me.
I've tried cancelling my policy various times with Farmers and for some reason, they refuse to cancel it. Or, the message just hasn't gotten across the board. I cancelled my homeowners insurance a month ago. They withdrew another payment from my bank account a week ago. I've been calling and calling them, talking to one person after another. They keep assuring me that my claim has been cancelled. Now I'm trying to get a refund. No one has gotten back to me yet, so I'll see how that goes.
The claims representatives from Farmers are inconsiderate, belligerent, mean spirited people. We had serious damage after a fire broke out in our basement, and Farmer's refuses to pay out an adequate amount. They called my husband and gave him the amount of $550. $550 won't even cover the damage done to the furniture, never mind the floor, ceiling, and walls. They were so rude and do not deserve our business.
When I was looking to switch insurance providers about a year ago, I contacted Farmers for a homeowners insurance quote. They gave me one significantly lower than my current coverage had given me. The new quote was nothing at all close to what I had before. I think what ended up happening was that they gave me a lower quote, so I would get a policy with them. I haven't been after to contact anyone to figure it out yet.
My premium continues to get higher and higher. I'm not sure if they've recently raised every ones premium, or what's going on. I've gotten my homeowners insurance through them for years, and my premium has only increased less than a year ago. I contacted them and said I haven't filed any claims, but they weren't able to give me a good reason why my premium was raised. I've had them for years, but I can't keep them if my premium is going to keep getting higher.
Farmer's insurance is so expensive for the absolute worst coverage. We've been loyal customers for 15 years and when we experienced a significant amount of rain fall in the area, we assumed that Farmer's would cover the roof leak. Not just a roof leak, but lots of damage done to the flooring as well. They would not cover one thing. Not replace the roof, not help with the damage. They are horrible. They will not pay out for any claims.
We had a significant amount of damage done by a fire (caused by exposed wiring) and our home was pretty much done for. We needed to find temporary housing and Farmer's was so unhelpful in doing so. I have three kids, so it wasn't just like my husband and I could sleep on someone's couch. They helped with rent for a temp. apartment, but would only help with 6 months. A regular apartment lease is 1 year. I explained this, but they were still unhelpful. We're paying for the damages ...
done to our house and monthly rent. It's ridiculous.
I recently got into a car accident and am recovering. I regularly go to physical therapy and cannot work at the moment. I received a notice from Farmers saying that I have to get rid of all the leaves on my roof or they would A) hike up my premium, or B) terminate my policy altogether. A few days later an adjustor just decides to show up at my door. I was out, but they left a note. I find it so rude that they did not try to schedule ...
anything with me, or try to send out someone to remove the leaves. They need to do better.
I deeply regret insuring my home with Farmers. We had a pipe burst in the basement wall and immediately called Farmers to file a claim. We had an adjustor come out to asses the damage. A week later we received a letter stating Farmers would not cover the damage, because there was evidence that the pipe had either burst before or had been leaking. If this is so, wouldn't we need to file a claim to fix it anyway? They are awful and will NOT help you when you need ...
The customer service at Farmers is horrible. We have our homeowners insurance through them, and have run into many problems. Starting off, we could not get in touch with a live human being. It was absolutely impossible. We tried for almost two weeks before getting in contact with someone. Then, they ended up being so rude. They treated both my husband and I like we were idiots. We've only had them a short period of time, but we are already looking for another company for when our policy is up.
Our homeowners insurance premium increased out of the blue, and we aren't exactly sure why. My wife called and was unable to get in contact with anyone. After a few days, we gave up. I am the only one with a steady income in the home, as my wife stays home with our three children. An increase like this really affects our family, and we really can't afford it. Especially, we didn't know it was happening, it just happened. I wish they would've informed us before raising our rate.
