JSC Federal Credit Union (JSC FCU) is proud to meet the financial needs of the people living in the communities we serve. As a member-owned not for profit financial institution we are committed to enabling our members to become financially self-sufficient and successful. From its humble beginnings 55+ years ago, JSC FCU has grown to serve 124,000+ members and 2,000+ Community Business Partners (CBPs) throughout the Greater Houston Bay Area. JSC Federal Credit Union (JSC FCU) began operations December 27, 1961 as MSC Federal Credit Union, working out of a small office in the Farnsworth Chambers Building. Later, the office moved to Building Two (on the current JSC Clear Lake site), then to Building Eleven. JSC FCU was originally chartered to serve employees of Johnson Space Center in Houston. In 1975, JSC FCU moved into its current Main Office location at 1330 Gemini in the Clear Lake area of Houston. The Main Office underwent major renovations in 1987, 2001 and again in 2016. In April 1993, a second branch opened in League City; followed by additional branch offices in Ellington (June 1993) and Friendswood (May 1996). JSC FCU expanded onto Galveston Island after absorbing Galveston Industries FCU in October 2000. JSC FCU gained 2 Texas City branches with the merger of Texas Star FCU in November 2002. Expansion continued with the February 2004 merger with GTX FCU in Pasadena, and then with the opening of a new branch in Dickinson in November 2005. JSC FCU's growth continued with the May 2007 opening of a branch in Pearland, the July 2007 opening of a branch in Seabrook, and the August 2007 opening of a second location in League City. The December 2007 merger with Monument Area Federal Credit Union in Deer Park increased the JSC FCU presence in East Harris County. Growth continued in June 2008 with the opening two more branches - a second Deer Park branch office and a La Porte branch office. Two interactive concept branch were opened on Clear Lake City Blvd In December 2012. JSC FCU's growth continued in with the opening of the first Pasadena Branch location with the merger of Texas Champions Credit Union in 2014. A second Friendswood branch opened in April 2018 and one in Alvin in August 2018. JSC FCU opened an additional location on Space Center Blvd in January 2019.
