I am your typical struggling, starving student and I needed a way to get through each month with a little help. I also knew that credit cards can be dangerous, but I planned to pay it off each month, which I've done with this card. The great thing was that they gave me a card, despite my lack of much credit.

State Farm is very forgiving with students with bad credit, so it's a great place to start if you've had trouble getting approved in the past. You'll love the low (for student credit cards) interest rate, the $0 annual fee and the free rental insurance. Just make sure you don't use it overseas (3% fee) and don't be late on your payments ($35 penalty fee).
