Take your risk with Standard Insurance !

Part of my coverage is travel delay. On the day I experienced the delay, I immediately called their office to report the incident and requested that I be guided on the requirements and documents. All that was told to me was to secure a travel delay report from the aircraft company, that's all that they said. When I was claiming upon my return home, here are all the requirements they needed (this is a copy and paste from my email): (COMPULSORY REQUIREMENTS)

1. Accomplished claims form ... (please see attached) 2. Detailed Incident report (Narrative from the insured detailing the incident. Answers the who, what, where, etc. questions including the expenses the insured is claiming for.) 3. Copy of Flight Itinerary and boarding passes 4. Copy of Passport including pages with details and dates stamped for entries and departures 5. Copy of Birth Certificates of passengers

for Delayed Departure / Missed Connection / Diversion of Trip

6. Original Certification from Airline stating the reasons for the delay in the flight 7. Original Official Receipts of expenses incurred due to the incident. 8. Copy of Flight Itinerary/Boarding Pass showing the actual time and date of departure

NOTE: SCANNED COPIES / PHOTOCOPIES WILL NOT SUFFICE FOR ANY AND ALL ?DOCUMENTS TAGGED/REQUESTED AS ORIGINAL. SAID ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS MUST BE FORWARDED TO THE COMPANY. OTHERWISE, YOU MAY SEND THE REST OF THE DOCUMENTS IN SCANNED COPIES.

In forwarding the documents, you may choose to either: Submit the documents in person; or Forward the documents via courier; or Drop the documents at your travel agency and let us know once the documents had been submitted to them. (This way our sales team could coordinate with ?your travel agency with regards to the retrieval of your documents from their offices).? ?Business hours are from Monday to Friday 08:30AM -05:30 PM only.

I always thought having insurance for when you are traveling was a waste of money and thought about cancelling my policy many times. I'm so glad I didn't. We ended up needing them while on a recent family vacation and the money they saved us is well worth what we pay in premiums. Thank you!

Standard Insurance Company has two types of travel insurance coverage: one policy for individuals, another policy for families. Each policy offers similar coverage: emergency medical care, trip cancellation, emergency cash advance, baggage forwarding, etc. The individual policy places an age limit of 80 on individuals eligible for coverage. The family plan covers two spouses and three children up to age 21. Children older than 21 are considered individuals. Families with more than three children must insure their additional children on individual policies. The coverage can be extended for up to ... 90 consecutive days of travel. Standard Insurance Company is also highly rated by the Better Business Bureau, which is also somewhat reassuring. But Standard Insurance company travel insurance plans don't cover your pets, so you'll have to make other arrangements if you want to bring Fido or Fluffy along on your trip. You may also be able to cover some or all of the elements of this plan through your homeowners' insurance. More Less
