XE is not a consistent money transfer service; they are also not transparent with their fees.  Fees listed at the initiation of the transaction always include additional costs on the other end when the funds are received.     The other issue is that I've used the service to transfer overseas, and the exchange rate they post is usually higher than what it is; therefore, the money is significantly less than expected once it's received.  Finally, customer service needs to be better.   

I most definitely not recommend it. I had a terrible experience transferring money with XE Money Transfer. They sent my money to the wrong person and to get things right I had to go through a very tedious and long process. The costumer service wasn't very good either. 

So, this company kept some of my money and would not give it to me. They are also a bit sneaky when it comes down to the rates that they charge. They'll tell you they charge nothing yet when you get your money you can tell that a percentage has been taken out. Scammers. 

I tried using XE Money Transfer Services when I was working abroad in Japan and had to send money back to the US. While the service is easy to use and transfers are completely quickly, I found that XE is not as affordable as other money transfer services such as TransferWise. XE charges exchange rates that are above the mid-market and keeps the margins, so I found that the rates were not the best with XE. It is a good service for countries where other money transfer services are not available though.
