Alabama Credit Union (Company)

Organized in 1956 to serve The University Of Alabama, our Tuscaloosa-based not-for-profit financial cooperative quickly became a favorite among the University community. Known for its personal service, low-cost loans, and higher-than-average dividends on deposits, Alabama Credit Union’s membership grew steadily for many years. As consumers began demanding increased convenience, additional products, and sophisticated financial advice, our credit union became a fast adopter of technology, supported by a caring, personal staff at a growing network of branch offices.Alabama Credit Union has been honored as the merger choice of several credit unions whose memberships wanted more than their own credit unions could provide, but the same personal service they trusted. As a result, we are now the credit union of choice for employees at Phifer Incorporated, Decatur City Schools, Morgan County Schools, Hartselle City Schools, Cullman County Schools, Birmingham Post Office, and several more. We have also been chosen by selection committees and human resource departments at many of Alabama’s pre-eminent employers, such as several Mercedes-Benz suppliers, University Of Alabama at Huntsville, Austal Shipbuilding, and Mercedes-Benz U.S. International.
