Crooked Banking Institution! Stay Away! They stole the $300 bonus I was entitled to signing up for a credit card and will charge you a yearly fee in advance so they gain even more!

I would highly recommend Aspiration Spend & Save Account Checking Accounts for high school students and college students. Aspiration requires $10 deposit, there’s no atm fees. As a parent, this was a great option for my children by introducing them to banking and financing.

Poor customer service and serious security issues. I have been waiting over 3 weeks for a resolution to fraudulent activity in my accounts. Almost impossible to get through on the phone and emails may as well be snail mail. When I do talk to a human, they don’t have any answers.

I guess the reason many get uncomfortable with Aspiration is that it is not a bank that holds a banking license. However, you can rest assured that your deposits are safe, the money is held at partner banks that are insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). I would not use this as a normal bank account. I've had issues with past online bank accounts and this is one of them. Somehow they managed to take a few dollars out of my 'real' checking account where I physically bank at without me knowing. I immediately disabled my ties with them after learning of their secrecy. Plus they keep sending me junk mail. No go for me.

Aspiration quickly froze the account and I was concerned due to the fact that I routinely make direct deposits to the aforementioned account. This is a great no-fee checking account! No maintenance fees and you can have both a savings and checking account while transferring between other institutions for free. Safe for direct deposits and everything you need for safe banking. Great product and service for the community and would recommend to all friends and family!
