Applicants with a credit score of at least 600 and up to 850 may be eligible for PayPal Credit. The minimum age to be eligible is 18 or the state minimum, whichever is higher. PayPal Credit does not have or does not disclose a minimum annual income eligibility requirement.

PayPal Credit and Synchrony Bank are rightfully being sued for predatory financial practices. Promotional ads hide the details of very high late fees charged even if payment is made on due date, high interest fees, and fees charged when late fees are not paid. Full transaction history is also hidden, only partial history is shown on PayPal website. Buyer Beware!

I disputed a charge. They finally got around to issuing credit LESS the sales tax of 28.16. Disputed the again, the way I was told to. I sent their documents as well as the vendor proving they issued the refund LESS the sales tax. Called today and they said that it had to be disputed another way. All I want is my sales tax back. Should be a no brainier.

Shady practices. If you have two purchases and ask for extra payments to be allocated to a particular balance to get it paid off in time, they say ok but then allocate however they need to to make sure you don't pay it off in time to avoid the interest. PayPal Credit is a great service for larger purchases. You get cash back for you first purchase over a certain dollar amount which is a great added bonus. Avoid using PayPal for ANYTHING. It's not worth the headache. In the eyes of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. and state regulators, PayPal is not a bank. Why is this important? Bank regulations would prevent PayPal's notorious shady practices like suddenly freezing or closing accounts and seizing funds with little to no explanation. It's just easier to stay away from PayPal. There are safer and more reliable alternatives out there.

I’ve used PayPal Credit on numerous occasions. One thing I love about this product is that, depending on the order you are making, it will remain interest free for up to 6 months. It has helped me with larger purchases without the hit of high interest rates. Anything over $99.00 is considered promotional and you have 6 mos to pay interest free, so you do this. Then you charge something non-promotional for $50.00.
