Major concepts in law include things like consent, liability, torts, and contracts. Consent refers to the voluntary agreement of someone to do something, such as giving permission for a medical procedure or signing a contract. Liability refers to the legal responsibility of an individual or entity for their actions or inactions. Torts are civil wrongs that result in injury or harm to another person, property, or reputation, and can result in legal liability. Estate planning refers to the process of organizing and managing one's assets and property in anticipation of death, in order to minimize taxes and other costs and ensure that the person's wishes are carried out. Contracts are legally enforceable agreements between two or more parties, setting out the terms and conditions of a particular relationship or transaction.
