I am the beneficiary and people that cared about me and my young children.
 (GoFund's response:Please note that we do not provide reimbursement when a campaign’s donations were received by the intended beneficiary and/or spent as intended.) , and how we would find transportation, were the donors. The person who created the fundraiser threatened to have the car towed into the middle of the street if I didn't come pick it up that night. The person that she supposedly paid $2000 to is her downstairs neighbor/friend who "jumped the title" which is a felony and means that I can not do anything with the car, not even junk it. I couldn't get the car to start the night I had to pick it up or have it towed, so I had to spend money on a new battery and installment, the car cannot be started without the alarm going off and it can't be turned off. I also paid to have it insured. If I am the beneficiary and only saw $440 of the $2510, then I do not understand GoFund Me's response. The funds were not allocated properly and I plan on informing anyone that I know who may have donated. 

NO matter how much you provide and how much or lil you raise the withdrawal to your account will not happen. Providing all the bills, lease, business reg, bank info and certifications yet still they want to phish people govt ID and even or those who gave them DL, passport and all still they are awaiting money over 2 yrs.

AND, they expect us to provide government ID which in Canada it is illegal, it's even written on the ID and passport: NOT to be used as ID, property of Canadian government. The privacy act is clear on that, and keeping the money hostage in return for govt ID is a federal offence here,yet they still do business here and impose these rules. I have reported them to RCMP fraud dept. They know about them, not the first person to be scammed by them.

They keep replying that it's their terms, who cares, if the terms are illegal doesn't make them ok!

People with positive experience are 3yrs and before, looks like mostly all negative after that. Don't try to email back and forth to explain you will not win any argument even if they know you are right. AVOID AT ALL COST! It's quite disturbing using people in need urgently and scam them like this.. I read that they use the funds to invest hence why they keep you in a loop of 'security verification' all bogus claim. Be very wary if you have money in donations, best you ask to send back to people and get them to send you directly with PP or FB donations, which I knew that before!

They lack serious customer support.  Handling customer questions only via email makes simple fixes take days to correct and multiple contacts. I've asked why they don't have a call center and was told that they received millions of calls which is too much for them to answer...you would think a company making millions off of charities would be able to afford  staff and a call center, especially if it means supporting the customers that make you millions.

I tried a fundraiser to cover some unexpected bills on GoFundMe and didn't raise a penny. Things like this only work if you have a crowd to help, including donors to contribute "seed" money. Otherwise, you're just one of thousands of strangers asking for money.

Go fund me is an interesting crowdfunding site with a good cause. Some of the campaigns on Gofund me are genuine and wholesome asking for funding to pay for things such as a funeral in a specific location that the organizers cannot afford. This funding platform is the hugest decorated with over nine billion dollars in donations from over 120 million donators. The platform is free for organizers which makes sense and is well appreciated considering the goal is to get donations. The revenue comes from the donators that have to pay a measly Transaction Fees of 2.9% plus 0.30 per donation.

As suggested by their name, GiveForward is aimed at those raising donations and is therefore not available to those raising funds for business ventures. It allows those who are raising funds for medical bills and the like to use the platform for 0% fee and has excellent user interface and customer support. 

Fun fact: GiveForward was recently acquired by GoFundMe -- the largest crowdfunding website. The backing of the larger organization allows GiveForward to access many more resources than similar platforms. 


Gofundme really made raising funds for my startup easy effortlessly. I needed funds for my startup business, and I was introduced to gofundme a few months back. It was my first time, so I experienced some minor glitches while trying to create an account. The customer support came to my rescue and followed up with me till I was able to set up my donation page. I was able to raise enough money from people who were generous enough to give. Also, I had trouble withdrawing the donations from the GoFundMe I created. I was beginning to get worried and frustrated. However, the customer service kept up with the support and helped me till it finally worked out.  100% satisfaction and I will always recommend it because of their excellent service.

YouCaring is the most purely philanthropic of the crowdfunding sites I've encountered. They only accept campaigns that help people in need or down on their luck. YouCaring also does not take a percentage of the fundraised money when withdrawn, meaning the recipients get to keep their money and do good with it. YouCaring is a great crowdfunding site that places people above all else.
