OceanFirst Bank High Yield Savings Account offers an APY of 4% (APY stands for annual percentage yield, rates may change). This is much higher than the average savings account rate.
The interest rate on a savings account or checking account can change based, in part, on what the Federal Reserve does. Note that the APY of a savings account is the amount of interest you will earn if you keep your money in the account for a full year expressed as a percentage. The difference between an APY and an interest rate is that the APY takes into account how often your money earns interest (or compounds). The more often your money compounds, the more it will earn. Savings accounts with an interest rate that compounds daily, for example, will earn a higher return (and therefore a higher APY) than savings accounts that compound annually.

Amazing bank. Whenever I have a problem they are quick to fix it. It's like that with Community banks; they actually care about the community they are in. The bank I belonged to before this one only knew me by my account number and I could tell the tellers didn't care about their customers. With this bank when I walk in they greet me, ask me how I am doing, ...Show More

Their SaveFirst Account is pretty good. As long as you have a Checking Account with OceanFirst you are eligible to open a savings. Plus, I know that I got a 10 dollar bonus when I open my account. Hopefully, that is a long term feature.

Their High Yield Savings Account has the perks of very minimal initial payment i.e. $1 only and the same amount you have to maintain to keep your savings in the loop of interest rate. Most cards charged an ATM transaction fee but with OceanFirst ...Show More

This is amazing! With a 0 dollar monthly fee, and a very high interest rate that allows MY money to grow each year (with as low as $1???!!) I am extremely confident in where my money goes, and how I am able to use it. With that being said, OceanFirst is my First choice when looking for accounts to place my trust in money in.
