I have used both H&R Block Online and H&R Block Tax Preparer Services. I made the mistake of switching to H&R Block Online from TurboTax and the latter was a lot easier to use. Also H&R Block Online is separate from H&R Block Tax Preparer Services so you will need to contact customer service for help as they will not assist you at a branch, which came as a surprise ...Show More

Expensive.... but you do get some bang for your buck. They are fast and efficient so you'll probably get your refund sooner, but some of the hassle in filing with them is not enough to justify the extra cost like bringing your paperwork to a local branch....

They charge an arm and a leg to file your taxes. Yes, it is somewhat fast but the fees and charges are enormous they do offer the early tax refund credit that you can get some of your tax return ahead of time.

HR Block's online tax filing is SO helpful! Taxes are probably the most anxiety inducing thing for me and their website helped ease my mind as to whether I was doing it right or not! They are incredibly user friendly and are helpful to any job you may have - from sex work to owning your own business to hostess at a restaurant!

Hr block is someone who doesn’t know that much about taxes savior. They even let you get your money faster than anywhere else. They seem really clean concerned with getting you the most back. If you haven’t tried them yet so so next tax season.

I do appreciate H&R block for what they are. I went through their preparer course during 2019 and have to say
1) it isn't easy to make it, so trust your preparers
2) they cover the important things in DETAIL, rest assured

They are fine for people that file a basic tax return and do not have multiple sources of income or complications. If there is nothing unusual about your tax year they are good because they take care of everything quickly and know to properly complete all of the forms and file. I have gone back and forth between H&R Block and Turbo Tax and I have to say that H&R Block is a tad more user-friendly. Due to working full time I had little time to find a better tax preparer. I did my taxes with the the last 30 of 32 years. They overcharge, do not get you the best refund that they can get and will hide this from you. When you have time to check your return and discover this they will resist doing an amendment.

I;ve used H&R Block siftware for years but this year it wont allow me to enter an contribution to my personal ira for tax reduction and trying to get help via phone is non existentnot to mention any method of getting customer support help on line

The customer service that the receptionist at my local H&R Block has does not exist. At least, it did not with me. I initially emailed them a few days before my tax preparation appointment to get a list of documents I would need to bring in, and never heard anything back. They are too expensive and don't offer enough value for that money to make it worth my while. I have found plenty of other places that do the same (if not better) job for a fraction of the cost.

I used H&R Block one time and wish I hadn't. I could have done my returns on my own using Turbo Tax, and for a fraction of the cost. They did an okay job, but I just didn't see the value in having to go to a branch to file my returns when I can do it online for the same amount of time, and save myself some money.

I used them a couple of times. Very straight forward but if you need to be creative or have a complicated tax filing, you will need to get to a tax expert. Cost is about average. $150-250 for married simple filing.
