What we love about Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation

Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation is an indirect lender that helps people finance or lease Nissan vehicles. It purchases loan and lease agreements from its partnered dealers for both new and used vehicles. Even though the company doesn’t lend to customers directly, it offers a useful website that contains resources and tools that you can use to choose the right vehicle for your needs.
Working with Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation brings a variety of perks, including discounts for recent college graduates and military members, a certification program for used vehicles, and grants to help mobility-impaired buyers outfit their cars to meet their needs.

What could Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation do better?

Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation doesn’t work directly with borrowers. It is an indirect lender that buys loans and lease agreements from car dealerships, so you’ll have to work with your local dealership to get a financing offer. That means no quick and easy prequalification process over the internet. It also means that you’ll have to work with the companies selected dealership if you want to get financing through Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation. You may not be able to work with your preferred dealer and may have trouble doing as much comparison shopping as you normally would.
Another drawback is that the company only finances Nissan vehicles, so if you want to buy a different type of car, you’ll have to work with another lender.

Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation ‘s backstory

Nissan Motor Company was founded in 1933 and is one of the largest automakers in Japan. The Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation is a subsidiary of Nissan Motor Company and has been helping customers finance Nissan vehicles since 1981.

The Verdict

Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation offers good financing deals and some nice perks for certain car buyers, but its restrictions can be annoying. If you want to buy a Nissan and already planned to shop at an approved dealership, there’s little reason not to consider the company’s loan and lease options. Otherwise, consider another lender.

They charge a high deposition fee to turn in your lease and charge tax on it as well. They will burn you on trying to buy out your lease making you pay over full price from when you first lease it but yet it’s value at the dealership is 12-16 k under and then you end up with negative equity my advice to anyone with a Nissan lease turn it ...Show More

I could not get into their website. When I called, I was transferred four times and on hold for over an hour and one half. The last representative I spoke with told me to go to website and just did not want to listen when I told her I could not access website. Nissan should be ashamed to call what they provide customer service.

Customer service people aren’t worth anything. They’ll interrupt you in the middle of trying to explain issues, won’t attempt to solve anything. They need to hire people who will actually work, not just anyone with a pulse.

Useless customer service. Called on 1/20/22 around 12:35 EST to inquire about a title transfer. The system was allegedly down. The representative I spoke with, rather than help me, hung up on me after I asked him to assist me with my concerns. Completely unprofessional. Despite my 10+ years with Nissan, this will be the last time I purchase a vehicle with Nissan. Absolutely tired of the unprofessionalism.

I’m really disappointed the way Nissan Finance manage the registration with DMV when you lease with them, their Title team is really poor and they made customer in trouble by not properly do the paper work with DMV which ended with renewal of registration got blocked and you can’t get the sticker on time. No proper response by customer service team even after multiple times approached and explained the problem. ...Show More

There is still a collection balance on my credit from 2016. I returned the car and no longer have it, but they still have an account on my credit report. They just reopened the old account so my credit dropped drastically! I am furious!

I paid off my Nissan Frontier in March of this year. It is now June and still no title. I waited 6 weeks and called them. They sent a lien release. A lien release is not a title. Had vehicle financed through them, traded it in. Dealer sent payoff check but it was only deposited for $42 instead of $42,000!!! Now Nissan is charging late payment fees, additional interest, and reporting late payment to credit bureau. It is all their fault and trying to work with them to get it fixed has been a daily night mare!!!! Still not fixed a month later!

Once you get even a day behind, the calls start -every day, nonstop at 8 in the morning. I literally just made a payment of over $200 to help get caught up, and still I get very ignorant reps calling and being insulting, because I'm not completely caught up, but not even 30 days late.

They are a snake of a company. I co-signed a car for someone who traded a car in, and after so a late payment was reported to the credit. I knew nothing about any missed payments , but my score was dinged -and when I contacted them I was rudely told they didn’t have to tell me anything or inform me that a payment was late.
