Volkswagen Credit does a lot right. You can easily view inventories for local Volkswagen dealers online and view the prices for the cars before you ever set foot on a dealership’s lot. You can even buy your vehicle online, skipping the stressful sales and negotiation process. Rates are also competitive and there are incentive programs that you can use to save money on your purchase.
What could Volkswagen Credit do better?
Like any lending program tied to a certain brand of car, the obvious drawback is that you can’t use Volkswagen Credit to buy a car other than a Volkswagen. If you’re not 100% sure that you want to buy a Volkswagen, you’ll probably want to get a loan that doesn’t have that restriction.
Volkswagen Credit also has a reputation for poor customer service, which is something that can be annoying if you ever have questions or difficulties with your loan. An example of this is that the interest rate and other terms for your loan aren’t always clear upfront. Contrary to what it says here, I don't believe they charge a pre-payment penalty fee any longer. However, I accidentally made a payment *early* that didn't go through, made the payment a few days later still well before my due date and they still charged me a returned payment fee even after I emailed them to ask for a one-time exception.

Customer service representatives are dishonest and will blame the customer and anyone else rather than assist a customer. Plus, the dealerships will add on a package of a free oil change but will not tell you that it takes weeks to get an appointment. they repossessed our car, because there was an error with the bank account, and missed payments on the loan without knowing that it was happening, we did not recieved properly notification that the account was in default.

I have been a Volkswagen customer for a very long time. I just asked for an additional extension for 3 months on lease and they denied me. I only wanted for 3 more months due to Covid. Very unacceptable

Can't see my account on line. They refuse to send my account info to me. Payments are made on time and vw doesn't process payments for weeks and then charges fees. Wouldn't vw have repossed my car if i hadn't made a payment since jan 2020?

They are terrible! They send your bill to collection agency when they have your address, telephone number, and email, but no notifications before you get a letter from the collection agency which means they have a lazy staff that they would not like to extend courtesy to their customers. terrible service and they have lost a customer of 16 years!

Hold times extremely long.
Customer Service responses vary depending on which rep you get on the phone. Agents not knowledgeable about their loans. Reviewed phone calls are not shared. Supervisions do not return calls as promised. No attempts at customer service. Will not be re-leasing my vehicle.

I had just recently purchased a 2019 Jetta and it was a flawless experience. When other banks said no VW Credit said yes and for that i am grateful. So give them a shot you just may end up with a loan !
