I just received an email about the payment of whopping $28.00 was past due 5 days. I checked my billpay and found that it was my mistake - instead of January I set it for February. I immediately called this outfit to make the payment and was told that they would charge $57+ - 100%+ (!!!!!) FOR FIVE DAYS. Yes, it was my mistake but it doesn't justify armed robbery. My parents are both Deceased within the last year. I have attempted to close the credit card accounts handled by Elan, but have been unable to do so. I have called dozens of times. Multiple hang ups. Elan Financial contacted Trans Union requesting a credit report on me. My Id was stolen in 2019 and I froze all 3 reporting agencies and they will not release my credit report un til I tell them to.
