State Farm has very high standards as to who can get a credit card from them, so if you aren't 100 percent sure you can get it, this will result in a ding on your credit report. It's not a good match for my needs, so it's a moot point.

Unlike other credit cards that you get cash back for using, State Farm / US Bank sends out 1099-MISC forms reporting to IRS rewards greater than $600 as income. Even though most other credit card companies and IRS consider rewards as a REBATE that is Not taxable, State Farm considers it taxable..... And sends out 1099-Misc

NOT HOLLERING, JUST HAD CATARACT OPERATION. WHEN I SIGNED UP YEARS AGO IT WAS GOOD. I COULD APPLY IT TO MY BALANCE OR TO CAR, HOME, OR UMBRELLA POLICY. THEN THEY CHANGED IT AND I CAN'T DETERMINE WHAT THE HECK THE REWARDS ARE GOOD FOR. TIME TO START BUYING WITH MY DISCOVER CARD, SINCE THEY NOW HAVE THE BEST REWARDS POLICY.
