Walmart’s Money Transfer Service ‘s backstory

Walmart was founded in 1962 by Sam Walton. Since then, the company has grown to be the largest retailer in the world, operating more than 11,000 stores in more than 25 countries.

Through a partnership with Ria, Walmart launched a money transfer service, called Walmart2Walmart in 2014. This service made it easy for Americans to send money to others in the US, so long as they could pick up the funds at a Walmart near them.

In 2018 Walmart partnered with Moneygram to launch Walmart2World, taking its money transfer services global. Through Walmart2World, customers could send money to people across the United States and the rest of the globe through the Moneygram network.

Walmart’s money transfer services are usually a pretty good deal. It has a simple fee structure based on how much money you want to send, and the money can arrive in as little as a few minutes if you’re sending cash. The partnership with Moneygram also gives Walmart one of the largest money transfer networks in the world.
