What We Love About Deserve Credit Cards
Deserve is a financial tech company that believes people should have another chance with their finances. To help people to achieve their goals and to improve their finances, the company offers three different credit cards. Offering different cards lets them serve a range of different customers, which is nice.
The Deserve Classic Mastercard has no annual fee, and you won’t need to have a deposit or a cosigner. It can work as a credit builder. The Deserve Edu Mastercard has no annual fee, a larger max credit line than the Classic, and is eligible for a percentage of cashback on purchases. A free Amazon Prime Student subscription comes with the card. The Deserve Pro Mastercard has no annual fee, an even larger maximum credit limit, and cashback on travel and entertainment, restaurants, and other purchases.
Other nice features include roadside assistance, travel assistance, ID theft protection, and price protection.
What Deserve Credit Cards Could Do Better
Even though Deserve's credit cards may be easier to get than some, it can still be difficult for some people. You’ll need to meet the minimum credit score requirements for each of the cards. The Classic has the lowest requirement and the Pro has the highest.
Deserve Credit Cards Backstory
In 2017, the company SelfScore became Deserve, which opened up its credit card offers to people in the United States. Before that, when the company was still known as SelfScore, the credit cards were only available to international students. Anyone who currently has a SelfScore card that hasn’t expired can continue using it. Once it expires, they will receive a Deserve card as a replacement.
The Verdict
If you’ve had some trouble getting approved for credit cards in the past, and you’re looking for a card that doesn’t require a deposit, you may want to consider Deserve. It’s often possible to get a credit card without needing to have a cosigner, as well. Of course, as always, you should check to see some of the other similar options to determine which will be the best option for your finances.
