I have filed my taxes on 1040.com for the last two years. I was completely satisfied with the service. In today's economy, $25 to file federal returns is a great price. State is free.

1040.COM offers many of the same features and guarantees as other tax filing sites and it is cost-effective with federal AND state returns collectively priced at $25. I've used TurboTax in the past and encountered glitches causing the same section to continually be reviewed preventing progression to file. They couldnt file my return and kept asking me to contact IRS, then i asked for a refund they say the charge is not for efile, its for their calculation. I say its a borderline scam, if they fail, they keep your money.

They've continued to improve their interface, they offer many of the same features and guarantees as other tax filing sites, and best of all - they now offer a flat-rate price of $25 for federal AND state returns. So after completing my taxes i owed money, paid the 14.95 to file, the next option is to pay my taxes off all at once. No options to set up a payment plan, 1040.com's tech support states to contact the irs to set up a payment plan. I thought i was filing when i paid the 14.95 payment, that's not a payment to file. What a shame I can't rate them 0 stars. They tried to rip me off. After completing my return, I got to the final pages, and the payment options, and suddenly my total refund was reduced over $1000. WTH. Tried their support, which was an utter joke. Waited forever for a brief session to explain why the browser was showing a hugely different amount than the PDF copy I'd downloaded. My husband and I have one child and it was free to file for Federal and only $5 to file for state. It was super easy plus 2 of our w2s were able to be imported so we didn't even have to fill that part out. I will definitely be using it next year.

Some of the prices you listed are inaccurate.I used the deluxe and I only paid 14.95 for state.I actually had a great experience with them and are going to them again this year.

For whatever reason, my tax return was rejected by the IRS while using 1040.com two separate times. They charge you a fee to refile, which is ridiculous because as a tax preparing site, shouldn't they help you out and double check your returns so this doesn't happen??
