The IHG Premier card will now offer new cardholders 165,000 bonus points after they spend $3,000 on qualifying purchases within the first three months of account opening, marking a 25,000-point increase from its previous bonus. Similarly, the IHG Traveler card’s new sign-up bonus is set at 100,000 points after spending $2,000 in the first three months, up by 20,000 points from its former offer.
Despite the increase in bonus points, the spending requirements for both cards remain unchanged. NerdWallet estimates the value of IHG points at 0.8 cents each, suggesting cardholders should seek redemptions that offer at least this value.
The IHG Premier and Traveler cards are particularly beneficial for those who often stay at IHG hotels, offering high rewards rates on bookings and additional perks. However, it’s important to note that the Premier card carries an annual fee, unlike the Traveler card.
