BECU is more than an alternative to a traditional bank; we're a credit union, a not-for-profit financial institution whose members are our stakeholders. We work hard to not only save you money, but help you earn more too. BECU strives to improve the financial well-being of our members and communities. Established in 1935 by a group of Boeing employees, a small group of people wanted to help folks buy the tools they needed to get hired during the Great Depression. More than 80 years later, BECU is still guided by that credit union philosophy of "people helping people." We live and work in this community. We are proud to roll up our sleeves and help local businesses, schools, artists, athletes and students. Our own employees get 12 hours of paid time off just to volunteer. By providing financial and in-kind resources to others, we build and strengthen our communities. Our members' voices are a valued resource. Many of our products, services and process ideas come from the members themselves! We make it a priority to listen to our members' feedback.
