We’re going to tell you an incredible story: the story where three teams, 11 branches, and all the communities in Michigan come together to meet your financial needs. We’ll start in 1936, the same year sunscreen was invented, Gone with the Wind was published, and Robert Redford was born. The enthusiastic Teachers’ Club of Midland County put in $50 towards the start of a cooperative. Donald Benfer, a passionate teacher, offered his junior high classroom for our first credit union office. Our story gathers momentum in 2012, when we joined forces with a trustworthy 64-year-old credit union created for the Clare Manufacturing Company and known for meeting members needs in Central Michigan. Fast-forward again to 2017, we began collaborating with Michigan’s oldest credit union established in 1926 by ten committed employees of the United States Postal Service. It doesn’t get any more vintage than that. Today, we are Members First Credit Union. We remain dedicated to supporting the communities that we’ve grown up in for over 80 years.
