This coverage reimburses the insured for the cost of maintaining a comparable standard of living following a covered loss that exceeds the insured's normal expenses. For example, it could include an insured's motel bill while fire damage to the home is being repaired or replaced or until the insured moves to a permanent residence.
Renters Liability Coverage:
If a claim is made against you or you are sued as a result of a covered occurrence, your renters personal liability coverage can help to cover the associated legal costs and related damages. For example, if a visitor accidentally trips and falls in your apartment and breaks a leg, your renters insurance policy may be able to help protect you.

Valuable personal property coverage protects items such as expensive collections, engagement rings, watches, and other jewelry from theft, loss, or damage.

Their renter's policy is a terrible nightmare. When I had to file a claim due to food loss caused by a power outage during a tropical storm they never said they don't cover that for my state. Instead they strung me along for a week before I finally was able to find out that food loss is an add-on coverage that is not offered in Virginia and is not covered ...Show More

The insurance and service is terrible. It’s a nightmare to file a claim. They should go out of business. DO NOT PURCHASE!!! You will be thoroughly disappointed it’s like being victimized twice!

Moving into an apartment which requires renter’s insurance so I contacted Geico since I have car insurance w/ them. For renter’s, they partner w/ Assurant. I set up a policy to start 3 weeks away - on move-in date. They immediately withdrew $30 from my bank. During a Natiral Disaster this company has no problem in taking your money but will not cover anything. I have never been more disappointed in a company in my life. A complete waste of money. After this storm passes I will be taking my business else where.

BEWARE! DONT GET RENTERS INSURANCE THROUGH GEICO THEY DONT PAY FOR ANYTHING!!! We had a tree fall and knock out our power and cause an electric fire (no fire damage), we were advised to call our insurance to find us a place to stay as we were evacuated from the building, they said they couldn't do anything about it. I'm on the fence about Geico's customer service. They are all nice enough, but I feel like I'm bounced around from person to person when I have a simple question. I have renters insurance only with them and I think it should be simpler to resolve my questions than it has been.

Sooooo I got a quote (just a quote) from Geico and they charged my bank account as if I'd gotten a policy through them. I never agreed to anything, I just wanted a quote. Now I'm waiting to get someone on the line to get a refund. What a huge pain for me.

Exellent experience with Geico. They came to my rescue in terms of funds after my apartment was partially burned down. My apartment wasn't burned down, but the smoke damage to all of my stuff was horrible! They provided replacements of many of my items.

Geico has the best customer service, i ever experience. They are always professional. Even though i have not experience the big change on my policy, Geico will always be my car and renters insurance. Thank you and keep up the great work.

For now, I'm in a rental and waiting to see if my car will be fixed or a write-off. Either way, I'm amazed at how efficiently this was handled by the mainstream geniouises at GEICO. No regrets with being with GEICO. Amazing customer service, and yes I did save money

They may have the cheapest rates, but pray you never have to use the insurance. They'll get out of paying for damages one way or another.
Try to avoid going to the shops they recomend. I had a nasty experience myself with their adjuster. The damages were never repaired correctly .

I was so happy with the help I received from two associates when I was looking to get my billing information changed as well as establish renters' insurance. I would recommend Geico to friends and family. Not only were you the cheapest rental insurance in comparison to other, but you were very helpful as well
