American Family is such a confusing and irritating company. I had car insurance for my families two vehicles through them for probably 7 to 8 years. The employees at American Family are impossible to get in touch with. I was in an accident, at no fault of mine, and it took forever for me to speak with someone to file my claim. I am so mixed when it comes to American Family. They have been providing our family with auto insurance for 13 years, with two cars under the policy. A year back, our premium dramatically increased. HORRIBLE!! Everything was fine until I actually needed them! I had to file a claim after an accident and they were so cheap with the repairs (wouldn't approve any manufacturer parts) and now my car doesn't run right! They screwed me big time!

I had a home policy with them for years and I was happy with the service they provided as well as their rates. I thought if I combined policies, it would save me money so I added an auto policy. That's when it all went downhill. I wish I would have never messed with a good thing.
